It is going to be a fascinating day, but at 38 degrees C one that, for me, is best experienced in front of my TV in my air conditioned lounge.

Definitely looking forward to it though. A tricky two paced pitch, although Haddin didm't seem to notice that, and a game that is ebbing and flowing.

Proper Test cricket. :)

Bit quiet on this thread this morning ... :p

Will the Oz last wicket "wag" enough to overcome England's total?

Yeah I think we're being shut up by some impressive English cricket. :o :p

Not to mention that the overall prize has been secured, so active commentary on the dead rubbers is likely not to happen. Little pride to be had in whitewashing the English 5-0 (if that will happen anyway).

May not need a fifth day in Melbourne.

Doubt they'll need a full fourth day.

Don't get too ahead - remember that Australia didn't get the target amount in their first dig. If we repeat our performance exactly in the second innings, we would lose by 26 runs.

Hopefully since the bowlers have done a very good job, the batsmen can lift and knock off the rather modest total.

Australia to win by 8 wickets sometime during the second session tomorrow.

My money is on an Australian win but given the fragility of our top order i'm expecting Haddin and/or Johnson to be required with the bat.

I think England really is broken now. Most of the team are about to be on the receiving end of some vicious press coverage. They have the look of a completely humiliated side now.

Agree, but one way or the other, I think it will be over tomorrow!

Think it will be an interesting day but Australia's positive play should see them get within striking distance before England get too what appears to be a more dangerous over ball...

Then again this is test cricket.

An looking forward to sitting in the new SCG stand tomorrow night at the T20

Australia's positive rate certainly helped, although England dropped a few chances.

Well done to Rogers and Watson - both great innings on what seemingly wasn't that easy a wicket

Attendance figure of over 271,000 for 4 days...fantastic

I wonder about Captain A Cook's future, most of the Channel 9 commentators, even the Pom ones were giving him a roast with his field placements. I reckon he is gone as Captain of England after this series.:(

Great win by the Aussies, terrific batting today by Rogers and Watson.

Cook: "We let an opportunity slip here and that probably shows where we are at in terms of levels of confidence at the moment."

Mmmmm so that bodes well for Sydney because confidence is hardly going to improve over a few days.

They let opportunity drop!

If Cook is dethroned, who would be the replacement? The Sherminator?

At least it is some other team other than ours embarrassing themselves...

Not sure you would say its back to normal transmission in terms of class Australian sides of the past as this team could fall flat on its face in the next series (whoever its against??) and the top order still has some issues, but hopefully they should be able to go from this confidence boost (and finally seemingly some unity) and build something...

With Sydney supposed to be friendly for spinners it will be interesting to see how Panesar and Lyons perform
