Why guess if you can pay now to get "the bargain" now.
Have paid one Quarterly Installment today :), but bookkeeper not due in for another couple of weeks for the last quarter's BAS's and want to be sure I don't miss out

My Westpac Krisflyer CC statement today had bad news. May need to revise my strategy, at 1.25 points not sure this worth the 1.48% fee.

EFFECTIVE 1 APRIL 2015, THE EARN RATE ON THE
SINGAPORE AIRLINES WESTPAC PLATINUM AMERICAN
EXPRESS CARD IS CHANGING AND YOU WILL EARN 1.25
KRISFYLER MILES PER AUD$1 SPENT ON ELIGIBLE
PURCHASES USING THAT CARD. THERE WILL BE NO CHANGES
TO THE EARN RATE ON YOUR SINGAPORE AIRLINES WESTPAC
PLATINUM VISA CARD.

Thanks for the bad news burmans.
I may have a bill to pay on March31st.

Yes, I suspect you may not be alone. It's probably time for some analysis of what's next, this card and the EDR card were the go to cards but what's next best. Will need some serious investigation!

I do love SQ and my wife loves QF. This month we are going on QF to Los Angeles which we have not done for a long time. This has caused us to have credit cards to earn points/miles on both of these airlines.

I do have credit cards which earn to QF (those sign-on bonuses were hard to turn down) but for me QF may be nice but offers very poor value.

So what is the people's choice for paying the ATO now? I need an uncapped card - only think I can think of is the HSBC Premier but I don't like the conditions that come with it.

I've just had a couple of large ATO payments on the NAB Premium not honoured.
Ouch.

Holy smokes Batman!....that's a new development. Mine worked last month for about 15k. Did your points not post or were you contacted by the bank?

Points did not post. Contacted NAB and they referred to the Ts and Cs and said ATO not covered.

Which card is this?

I guess newcomers shouldn't apply for Nab card for ato payments anymore?

Anyone else paid ATO bill more recently and got their points?

FWIW it was 2 x 30k payments on Visa. Maybe too much and it was flagged?

Oh no.. I just paid a bunch in the last 2 days... not happy. Fingers crossed... I guess my argument will be that they paid last month, why not this month: I haven't been advised any changes inbetween.
It's going to be a very weak argument.

Are they allowed to take the points back?

The NAB clauses in question are:

• government fees and charges;
• where your Card Account is a personal NAB VelocityCredit Card, net purchases also exclude transactionsNAB decides are for business purposes

They have most bases covered with these (though I don't actually believe tax is a fee or charge!)

Ouch! They keep dropping like flies ... won't be long before they start playing The Last Post :(

Christ was going to use my NAB velocity premium this month. Looks like all options are disappearing fast. May have To go back to earning points from 'retail' purchases alone :(
