ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Can anyone confirm if the JETST@R PL@TINUM M@STERC@RD issued by M@cqu@rie is still in play? I thought I read something a few months back about it not posting but have scrolled back through pages and pages of history and can't find anything...

2-1 for VA on the ANZ Black rewards gives the Visa a straight $1 -1VA point...Pretty sure that's the best out there for an Amex/Visa combo. I use the Amex for ATO but a $1 per point I could be tempted to move to the Visa as value on Amex vs Visa has never really added up but I have always wanted to get more points! :)

HSBC QF Platinum appears to be capped at 300k. It didn't mention it anywhere in the application, online terms and conditions etc. (unless I missed it), only in the documents I received with the new card today. grrrrrr

It's in the rewards program terms and conditions.

Isn't it 2.25 to 1 at the moment but rumours are it will change to 2:1 on July 18

Yes I can confirm that I have received points for 3 payments to the ATO so far this year. :)

Have to pay my quarterly BAS and PAYG soon (around $50k total) and my ANZ Amex (1.5 points per $) has been limited to 6000 points per month. I like to earn QF points and am looking for another option.

So far its a choice between:

1) Change my CBA Diamond Awards MC to Qantas direct ($10 per year) and earn 1.25 points per $ = 0.66 QF points per dollar - 500,000 QF limit per year

2) Apply for HSBC Platinum - $199 per year but I get 1 QFF per $ spent and bonus 20k QF points - can't see any limit

Any suggestions or comments? #1 is easier but tempted to apply for #2 for 50% extra points

Welcome.

Hsbc has a 300k point cap pa.

Use ANZ Black Amex at 1.5 points per dollar if you really need the points at a higher cost.
In the HSBC fine print there may be a 300,000 points cap but I could not locate it in the first 100 pages of the terms and conditions.

I've got that one too. I don't use it for the ATO either as I thought I read the same thing but not 100 % sure. Guess the easy way to find out is put $ 250 ota through it and see what the result is on the statement ??

There are separate award T&Cs in which you will find it.

3) Use your CBA Diamond Awards Amex by changing to Qantas direct ($10 per year) and earn 3 points per $ = 1.5 QF points per dollar - 500,000 QF limit per year.

Great Rate (delve into the CBA card terms and conditions for Great Rate details) your ATO transaction and pay CBA 0.99% pa on it for 3 months, then pay it off in full before it reverts to the usual (usury?) credit card interest rate after 3 months.

Hi all I am new here but just checking...
I have Westpac KrisFlyer Amex.
The bank tells me that there are no more reward points if used for ATO, but, some posters here as recent as May say different.

What is the definative answer on this card? Can I use it still for reward points for ATO?

Thanks in Advance

Welcome to AFF shmock. sorry I can't help you as I use Amex. I'm sure someone will be able to answer your question though

I am using the Westpac Platinum Kris Flyer Amex to earn 1.25 Kris Miles per dollar with ATO. It is uncapped and the points transfer monthly after you zero the card balance. The fee on Amex is 1.45%.

shmock as cove posted you definitely earn KF pts on Westpac KrisFlyer Amex - in future do not waste time calling the bank - ask questions here - you will be almost guaranteed to get the correct information you seek.

Agree, and also by calling the bank you are almost guaranteed to incur the wrath of many on here as you are simply alerting the bank of the issue and they may change the T&Cs as a result of you bringing their attention to the matter.

HBCS continues to make me happy, as does WOW for 2.5k/mth.

Anyone able to advise on Bank of Melb Afinity?
