ATO wise only - AMEX the old schoolers have the KF at 1.25, and the next best option i take it is ANZ black - transferring via VA
VISA / MC - ANZ BLACK - transfer via VA

for KF earning.

i think your reading has stood you in good stead but just to be sure double check the st George BOM BankSA affinity direct to kris flyer. I don't have one but the visa/ mc may give you a slightly better rate than ANZ visa thru VA. It gets complicated with birthday bonuses and then there's the extra card fee. It's all a bit much for me so I simplify things and just use the ANZ Visa for ATO , I have other avenues that produce more points than ATO. So the lower rate with less points suits me. Each to their own of course and I fully appreciate others will choose the Amex higher fee for more points.

Collected the ANZ Black today with the wife - she claims all of my "stupid rules with the credit cards" make her head hurt, but she still enjoys the trips away.
Looking forward to once again ramping up the earn rate, despite the "stupid rules".

I now have separate cards for: ATO spend, general purchases, fuel, groceries. I think I need rules for travel and coffees.

pgsdiver that Velocity Platinum Amex card which is useless for ATO runs 3 points per dollar at the Golden Arches for their coffee. I haven't had a Diet Coke or a cup of coffee since 1984 as I was addicted. Received that info from a work colleague as I really did not need to know.
It is hard to get your partner fully on board with our OCD behaviour but you can show her the front of planes as a helper.

Tell hubby to wake up to himself - I pay every expense / cost / outgoing I can for SMSF on CC and just reimburse - been doing so for years and never a blink - hell I even pay rent into fund via a CC.

I'm still getting 1:1 on the BankWest World M/C. This card's earn is easy to remember, it's 1:1 for absolutely everything.

McCafe has coffee that is on par with a number of random coffee shops. In Australia at least. If you're in an unfamiliar area, as travellers often do, consistency of accceptable/average maccas coffee might be preferrable to paying coffee roulette with unknown coffee houses.

Been away for the last month and just got the notice about ATO for CBA Diamond. Unfortunately just hit the limit on my Diamond so my wife is applying for one (no fees because of loan) and hoping to get it through before this months payments. I am assuming there would be no issues pre-paying December's before the November cut-off. Can anyone envisage an issue?

The McDonald's at Kangaroo Point in Brisbane has the best coffee in the morning during the week. I have client's who ask if I am going to be coming past it so I can pick one up for them. It is very much down to the staff as other time's I just tip it out. Add to the fact, it is 3 points on Amex Plat + 1 point for local hero. I get 200+ points a week from the coffee

Finally able to get the ANZ black, via the missus though. Not approved within the 60 seconds saying it was up for review, but received email approval within 30mins. Hopefully it arrives before the 28th
