ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

DaveB,
in what form was the mail from WBC out of curiosity

Kathe

Pamphlet posted out with offer valid specifically for card quoted. Under a heading "20,000 reasons why tax time can be rewarding" and must use Amex over Visa..
One card is limit of our banking with Westpac with usage now a trickle following changes to the ATO earn.

Does anybody have any experience with Bankwest re "World" card, just applied for the platinum card and have been told that the world card is by "invitation only".

How long does one wait assuming they spend up to limit every month and pay when due etc?. The world is apparently one of the only 1:1 cards which is uncapped and OK for ATO.
Tried to do a "product change" from CBA Diamond to World but not possible they say.

Just got a letter from CBA 'GM Retail Customer Service, CommBank' saying that they had notice that I'd paid the ATO using CBA card ;). Kindly let me know that personal awards cards no longer eligible, from 2 November blah, blah.

(I know this was posted up thread some time ago; just noting receipt of letter. I guess because they've amended the T&Cs.)

Doesn't the ANZ Black QFF give 1.5 points per dollar on the Amex, making it a better option then the Red

I saw this Yesterday and was not happy!
It applies to those of us who have MasterCard via CBA and want to Pay the ATO.

Also 30 dollars is a bit rich to continue paying automatically in Qantas what to do here?

Sorry if this topic has been discussed earlier

Yeah, noted a page or two up. CBA business cards (ie small business, personal liability type) are still OK.

I flush mine to velocity, then to Krisflyer - no charge for that!

Yes I saw that regarding APBY. We have been using Citi Prestige as their earn is really good for business stuff and it all ends up in one spot other than ATO. ......
Using non Amex on ATO can be a reasonable option but it ranks behind QCUCC, Bankwest Platinum, HSBC for the moment and Citi AA US cards. .....

Citi Prestige is also my default non AMEX/ATO card.

The ranking list you complied referred to QF only. For those seeking SQ, AM they're not that useful.

Just received my ANZ Black so looks like I've got an easy way to spend the $7,500. Almost time to send the Woolworths card to the scissors.

Only CBA dropping the ball for us at the end of this month which is officially off after November 1st.
Yes js changed our travel plans. Good to hear you tried SQ.
Thanks, Cove - was actually my 3rd, JS-inspired, suites trip and I wouldn't have it any other way than SQ, as CE can attest.
Bummer about CBA but doesn't affect me. Mrs D received her Velocity Plat Amex while we were away and the T&C say nothing about ATO being exempt from points earn!! Does that mean.......?

Cove will loan you his titanium scissors. More satisfying to do it with a premium product!

Currently I use 2 Westpac Platinum Kris Flyer Amex for 1.25 Kris Miles at the 1.45% rate.
In reserve I have a US Amex Premier Rewards card and two downgraded Westpac Black Amex cards.
I haven't tried to get Sky Team points as I really only use Delta to go from Los Angeles and Salt Lake City for work.
3M Titanium bladed scissors are about $10 US for a three pack at Costco in Los Angeles and I recommend them for cutting up any useless credit cards that used to work nicely.

If anyone does need Delta miles they are available to cit1 prest1ge cardholders at 1ppd spend (but not for ATO spend obviously).

Ok, I've searched high and low for clarity and haven't found it: does the Jetstar Platinum Mastercard still earn points on ATO? (In April, someone said no, someone said yes...)

As income under $65k doesn't qualify for the Bankwest Platinum, and if Jetstar is out, I guess that only leaves HSBC QF Platinum or QantasCU as options (with signup bonuses)?

No it does not earn anymore.
As with Citi signature for a while a few lucky users may have bugs on their card allowing them to earn I suspect though ;)

HSBC has a points cap per cycle of $2500 spend, then a reduced earn rate
WOW is another option for you and also has the same points cap

ANZ Black - Visa = .75 points per dollar or Amex 1.5 points per dollar. VISA is most viable IMHO = 2.25 points per $ 3

Used my sons new Velocity Amex to pay a bit of ATO to qualify for the 110,000 Velocity points. Cost $14.50 to quickly get over the threshold so he can say hello to his sign on deal.
