ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Yes the Westpac Black Altitude Amex points cost about 1.93 cents each less any tax deduction so it isn't too brilliant unless you are wanting an SQ Suites or a business class run. Don't bother if you are an economy flyer.
The Visa will not earn you any points at all on ATO.

Tonight I used the Q CC first and then the BW World CC to close out some ATO remainders. We only get 0.66 points per dollar now off BW World but that is still a bargain.

Just received some bill to pay from the ato . i have NAB Qantas Premium , Anz black and CBA gold / diamond , Qantas cash , Virgin wallet . any of those cards will earn points from ATO .

Thanks

Unlikely Billt.Unsure about CBA as I never bothered with them. I think they cut most if not all.

Thank for the info cove , those are the only cards i got right now wouldn't bother to apply for a specific card just to pay ATO bill as they not that big .

Just done $100 test with CBA Gold Awards , another test with Qantas Cash . will do 2 more test with Velocity Global Wallet and CBA Diamonds Awards to see how things go and report back .

Small testing is a very good idea Billt as you may uncover something by doing this. ANZ Black was fun when it was on as our family had 3 CCs that worked a treat. Direct Amex Ultimate CCs were my early favourite in the beginning but now at 2.9 cents for a Qantas point is a ridiculous price. I am actually thinking Amex Ultimate credit card is on its last legs for our family.

GMOH I hope you have not given up on BW World. Sure the earn rate has dipped but it has helped Mrscove race to new heights. Q is in the lead but at $10,000 per day ATO limit it is more time consuming than BW World.
I have high hopes of using some of Mrscove's QFF points.

I do still have the BW World. Though for $220 pa it is borderline with my comparatively minuscule outgoings.

Re the Coles M/C, I should mention also the 0.45% that the ATO charges. :(. (Anyway, I just about have enough for a Y to NZ converting flybuys to EY, unless they have altered the 6,900 one way fare redemption).

I may be wrong but I thought Etihad had raised their charges on ticket redemptions the other day. You might want to check to see if those charges make a redemption flight worthwhile or not.
I did put over $40,000 on World at that new ordinary points earn and I am still smiling. The Q card got about $10,000 first and I had to wait 24 hours to do any more.

I do know that Velocity is/has added/adding additional fee to redemptions on EY. No sure if that was what was being referred to.

I know EY also have the charges for their own program. Much less painful though;

EY may be ok then on a direct basis of booking. That 4% sounds like an amazing fee. $50 or $100 USD sounds ok.

I know I've asked this and it's been answered with mostly yes'. I've only done this with a small'ish figure, put the card in credit of about 2-3 times the credit limit. I've got a tax bill which is 12 times my credit limit, 6 figures. Should I put it all into my card and pay off in one hit or put it in a linked account and pay it off in multiple payments?
The card is a westpac black again.

I do this all the time, this way by quarterly BAS CC surcharge is tax deductible, as I read the ATO definitions.
