ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Hard to see you could lose with the 80,000 sign on for $240 at the moment. The approval process has cut 2 out that I know.

Not everyone will qualify for this card as their assessment team can be tough if you have other credit cards with large credit limits.

Our quarterly ATO is delayed from this month to the end of February so all we have is the BAS this month. Everyone seems to be talking about our politicians taking their families for free business class rides on our tax dollars. It really isn't a great look when we have to come up with our BAS payments about 40 days before our debtors pay for the goods we sold them.

So the Oct-Dec 2016 quarterly BAS is done but not due to be paid for for a while. Catch is what card? Left in my artillery an AMEX Velocity Platinum which might only yield 0.5pt per dollar. Jetstar MC is no good.
Have been waiting for a CBA Platinum awards promo but might be Xmas 2017 before we see that. $300 sign up, some bonus pts would sweeten the deal.

I finished my December BAS on January 13th.
Replenishing Kris Miles and running up more QF points was my executed plan.
I was feeling lucky that I had an armpit full of Velocity points that came from shire rates, water rates and land taxes seeing Qantas availability on coast to coast business class has tightened.

Likewise did my BAS January 13th to get KF points on this statement.....Murphy's law... statement issued 15th....charges not gone through but $21k top up for next lot of payments has credited....in credit which is nice but no points until next month.....

Has anyone used Qantas Cash to pay ATO lately? I have a quarterly PAYG coming up and I am tempted to switch from my WBC Amex Black at 0.7:$1, if I can get 1:1 - not to mention the reduced merchant fees for MC vs Amex.

That makes BW World look pretty good at 1.32 QF points per $2 with that 80,000 sign on for $240. Just harder to get but worth a shot.

It should trigger your qualifying $1500 spend for your 100K points. You will only get 0.5 points per dollar as it's government spend.

My son has a St George CC so that will allow our family to have more redemption nominees if I load ATO on it for him. That card is very reasonable for 0.825 Kris Miles earning at 0.54%.

Just got mine for the 30k bonus. Easy approval within 24 hours after submitting payslips. May help if you have business with Wastepac I think.

I do like the idea of running up some Kris Miles on my sons St George CC as it provides a further group of traveling nominees and we are familiar with the Westpac system. This system is pretty open to large transactions and with Qudos now gone it looks like a good pick.
