ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

I just started imagining doing about 11,364 of those $88 gift cards to do a million dollar payment to the fiscal fiend.
Of course I am on holiday down at Bunker Bay so my mind was wandering/wondering a little bit.

Thats a lot of scratching of silver panels.
The repeated voice "would you like to send a receipt" would induce psychosis round about number 750

I thought $10,000 a time was tough when this thread started. $88 a time would give the ATO computer the punishment many believe it deserves.
Is it still broken tonight?

How do you pay via $88 gift card? Post office or can you enter numbers online on ATO site.... Like credit card?

Can"t do online as Eftpos. I have a feeling the Post office's days are numbered

Good questions Plant and ones I won't be wanting the answers. Sanity needs to prevail for our family. I even miss doing $10,000 a day on Qudos as I seem to be good at repetition. Too bad they are gone now.

You can't - these cards were EFTPOS - so couldnt be used online. But if you had some, you could go into coles and buy prepaid mastercards using the eftpos ones as payment (through self service). once you had the money onto mastercards you could pay on ATO payment page as per any other credit card.

You can use these cards at the post office. Or you could purchase prepaid credit cards with these $88 EFTPOS cards and use those for payment.

Apparently Victoria has issued their new land tax bills and some increases must be hurting land owners. Not exactly ATO but some bills are just as large.
Have not received ours as the Australia Post delivery to WA is true snail mail.

How long did points take to post on your FF activity statement? I did a tiny payment (<$1k) on 2/2/17 but no points have appeared yet.

Most likely won't come in till next month, I find QF points accrued throughout the month only post the following month or just after a monthly statement.

I ran up some QF points at 0.66 rate today as well. I do plan to make some business class bookings on points before February 20th as they are getting less valuable on that date.

I thought that only the cost of upgrades was increasing on 20 Feb 17, not the cost of business class bookings - what have I missed?!...

PS: Thanks for the QF @ 0.66 update - good for me to know for later this month.

Angus it may just be for upgrades so that won't be a problem. I have some expiring dinner vouchers so I really need to get to Melbourne and Sydney sooner rather than later.

Just have to wait for the BAS numbers for January to wrap up the whole month. I have paid a chunk already so I am feeling impoverished seeing it was 10 quarterlies plus the monthly BAS. Back to normal next month which is great because we will be in Los Angeles/San Diego /Monterey areas of California.
We have US iPads and I phones so I can pay the ATO while I am traveling.

I have wrapped up those quarterly taxes and the January BAS now. A bit early but I don't want to rush around on Feb 21st and Feb 28th and have a glitch.
A family member is having a shot at 2 ATO accounts and a state land tax bill. I think he might use 3 or even 4 CCs to get it all done. It is a great test and I think he can figure out which cards for the different bills.
