ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Ok Folks
I'm getting in early on this one. It's coming up to the 3rd anniversary for this thread and I would just like to say a personal thank you to JS for sharing his info with all of us all those years ago.
I was lucky enough to get in fairly early around May or June of 2009 and it has undoubtedly changed the way and frequency I fly.
Tonight I head out to LHR with Mrs Danger and Mini Danger in J for the third time in 3 years with another trip already booked for Christmas this year. Yes I know I'm not in Coves league but the smile on Granny Danger's face when she sees Mini Danger is just great.
So tonight the first toast with the french bubbles goes to my business partners at the ATO, long may the relationship continue and I look forward to reaquainting myself in time for the next IAS

Cheers and many thanks once again
Danger UXB

A very recent "late adopter" here, but my thanks, too, for this remarkable tip.:)

Most important threads on AFF over last 3 years to me have been:
  • This to generate a nice no of points from my little one man business
  • JASAs for the price of Classic Awards
  • DONE4 planning threads
  • WW Everyday Rewards
  • General CC Earning threads
  • Aadvantage mile buying
Now Mrs Paddy has an overseas trip in J or better each year "free" while I accompany on a "reasonably optimised" DONE4 plus a couple of JASAs and generate enough SCs to stay WP for the 3 years. Happy campers. :p:p:pCan't remember how I happened upon AFF but the knowledge found here has quite literally changed our lives.Huge thanks to all contributors here and on other threads.Paddy

Whilst Mrs LW is our Financial Controller, I am only one of 3 partners in our business. We put in place a business CC in 2007 (before this was in place) which we use. Don't worry, I cry every time she uses it.

With changing, what are the pros and what are the cons - I know some things can't (or shouldn't) have a value placed upon them and every situation is different.

If you could demonstrate nett benefits for the FC, you and the other two partners then I'd say go for it, if not then que sera sera ...

Especially something along the lines of the fact that the points earned could be used for JASA's for staff travel...

Can't you at least change to, e.g., a NAB Qantas Business Card, get two supplementary cards (each of which + the main card can be linked to different QFF accounts) and then spread the tax payments around between the cards evenly?

Not the best earn rate in the world (0.75 QFF points per $1 spent IIRC), but better than nothing! And fair to all of you.

With the BAS and partners you just split up who pays what proportion each month or quarter and put your proportion on your favourite card.

I only started paying my tax, BAS first, with my credit card from April 2011 onwards so was a little slow off the mark!

thanks very much guys. This is a great site. Slowly getting the boss to see the benefits.

I think I will just call my ATO girlfriend to pay this months BAS.
It seems to be her reassuring voice that has me hooked on the phone calls.
Anyway we will be back for the 21st and she doesn't need those flight attendant chocolates!

I am hoping there are quite a few AFF members who have fallen in love with this thread as we all keep Australia running for a few seconds. Thank you ATO and our credit card suppliers.
