ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

thanks to this thread am sitting by the pool in KL waiting to go out to the track on F1 raceday. J class for 3 of us return all the way. thank you everyone!!!

So jealous. Another McLaren 1-2 looming!
Was at turn 1 Albert park last week - brilliant!
Enjoy the race.

Who'd you fly with BTW and how many points?

I am hoping there are quite a few AFF members who have fallen in love with this thread as we all keep Australia running for a few seconds. Thank you ATO and our credit card suppliers.

We are all living the dream...lol Even better for the naughty people like me using the QEDRCC at only 0.48% surcharge with a 1:1 QFF earn rate...!

So many cheap points have been gained from this thread, we all really need to thank JS for such a wonderful ride so far, speaking of which, it would seem JS is distance from these forums, I do hope that he / she checks back occasionally to see all our thanks from his / her original post back in 2009...

I would have never thought I would enjoy paying my PAYG / GST so much...!

Life is good for most of us within this thread thanks to JS..from me to you JS....Thank You...

Shintaro10x I am flying over you this afternoon thanks to JS. Big Bird should rattle your windows before sunset if the flight path goes normally. I will be in Adelaide around the end of June so we should catch up.
There are some brilliant Visa and MasterCards now to get the low cost points instead of using the less competitive American Express cards.
My son will be paying his personal tax on his point per dollar MasterCard again this quarter....even 20 year olds are onto this idea.

Duffa,
flew Malaysian, just back this morning.
3 X return J class was (i think.....) wa 204,000 Enrich points which was the equivalent of 408,000 Westpac Altitude points. I have the Altide platinum and mostly use the Amex arm which is 3points per $1.00

I love how this thread gets more active on the 21st of many months, the 28th after each quarter and today as I'm thinking about end of quarter adjustments.

Amen!

Love paying tax these days :p

So would you pay your BAS via the JETSTAR card($5K spend b4 31May) to get the 10K QFF points?

Good idea. Trade off a lower fee and 10k points against earning 2500 points less than on Amex.

Just received in the mail today a letter from Amex about my Gold Credit Card.

Effective 1 July 2012 you will only earn 0.5 points per dollar spent on Utilities, Insurance, Telcos, Government Bodies - including the ATO!

Lucky I have my Citibank Select Visa to pay the ATO - thanks Cove!

Hope it does not apply to my Amex Plat CC - would be a pain to always have to think which card to use before paying.

Might be the beginning of the end of easy points if the other CC companies fall into line?!...

Angus I am glad you love that Select Visa card. Hard to get that's for sure as I read the posts on Citi threads.
Whilst it is a never ending story accumulating points we have had a very lucky period over the last 3 years.
i moved from Amex Gold to Amex Platinum then back to Amex Ultimate and I am happy.

Just remembered that I had one last March bill to the ATO today so yes I rang my girlfriend again to fix it to avoid a penalty clock getting started from tomorrow morning. She was really sweet and I went Visa for this one.
It would be easy to miss paying one of these bills when you are travelling.

Have you tried to RING coves girlfriend...?

Sure he wont mind as long as you are nice to her...

Yes it will be ok to call but please don't do chocolates as she is not a flight attendant!
She works day and night and she doesn't go on strike.

Good news! My March quarter BAS arrived today.

Can't believe I'm happy about paying taxes.

Don't forget PRT is due in a week or so, and if you're in some states (VIC and QLD at least) you can pay by CC. Double points (no pun intended) if you're in VIC as the Visa/Master surcharge is only 0.33%!

So would you pay your BAS via the JETSTAR card($5K spend b4 31May) to get the 10K QFF points?

I didn't know anything about this one. Do you have a copy of the offer still? I'd like to see if I'm missing out on other offers as well

Wafliron the Victorian payroll tax should fit nicely on a 1.333 points per dollar Visa card to get that cost per point down to a quarter of a cent each.......very nice!

It's actually going on my CitiBusiness Gold card that is currently earning 1.5 KF points per dollar thanks to a Citi bonus :D 0.22c per point!
