ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

I'm in my second year paying large bills to the ATO (and others) via Sniip and just got pinged for "verification" - they want photos of my ID and credit card and won't process further payments until they get them?! Anyone else had this experience?

Found some info on the Sniip website - User Verification: We’re getting to know you better | Sniip - but it doesn't mention how the photos will be used or stored and who else they'll be sent to.

KYC is a common thing in the UK, would have thought Aus would be the same. It's an AML measure essentially.

I can't remember doing it for B2BPay - haven't used other services like this. But yeah it's a weird one, I've put tens of thousands of dollars through Sniip for the last 2 FYs and now they want a photo to show the credit card I've been using all along is mine?

A lot of startups are often a bit lax when it comes to KYC measures, so that's not terribly surprising. It's likely they have had a kick up the backside.

Long time no play on this ato / cc lark. So, does BEEM accept Dragon cc to get points on an ATO payment?
Or is there some other suggestions please?

Q 2 - any advice plse … can I BPAY directly out of st george CC account to the ATO without it appearing as a cash advance?
Would pay everything off that’s on the card before paying ATO. Then pay off that charge as well immediately. Is this a plan? 😊

Successfully used ‘Beem’ so happy about that. So far I do not see any cc fees. Is it FOC on the app? Thanks for the advice.
I believe so

Yeah 10k per month and 2k per day

Good for my SMSF quarterlies as I'm told I'm not allowed to claim the surcharge
Been a while sir daft009 - hope business is treating you well - I didn't know Beam had a $10K monthly max - thanks for that

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have received a 6 figure tax bill due to CGT. I currently hold an Amex Qantas ultimate and a dragon card linked to amplify rewards. What is the most cost effective way to earn points on this. Happy to use both cards to pay as would like to split where the points end up eg Qantas and KrisFlyer. Feel free to DM me. Thank you.

Get a payment plan and use beemit to pay 2k/day-10k/month limit with your dragon (this is surcharge free)

If that will take too long, split it with sniip and your Amex.. do both

Best is to have a chat to Sniip or one of the Amex Bill providers considering the 6 figure sum and ask to reduce the surcharge. With Amex transfers to Velocity at 25%, Mariott at 50% and Hilton at 40% on currently - that'll set you up nicely for any options you may have.
