ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

What is "IIRC postage is free"?
Or did you mean Entertainment book free postage?

sorry. If I remember correctly. Postage is free for the Coles cards. Certainly is for the WW ones as I have a reference to that at hand
(note we need to be careful as we are going off the ATO payments thread. As far as I know (AFAIK :) ) there isn't a way to pay tax directly with Coles and WW gift cards. Although I'm sure there are work arounds? MMM let me think about that)

Just waiting for BPay funds to arrive into 3 credit cards so I can keep the points plan rolling along.
The Suites Savers thread now has some pretty warped AFF members but who can blame them.

Because I am travelling I have used the electronic version of the Government Easy Pay system with my IPad without any issues.
I used three favourable Visa and MasterCards this week to say goodbye to a lot of money. Those credit cards are just too inexpensive to ignore compared with Amex cards even when some of those fees may be tax deductible.
Yes I have ignored the due date extension to get it all wrapped up prior to our round the world in 21 day travels.
Those flights are all business and first class thanks to js starting this thread.

Friends

It's a long post so maybe it was covered earlier. If so, my apologies.

I had no trouble (so far) putting the Citi Select into momentary credit before the ATO due date.

I am thinking of doing the same with QEDRCC, planning to run both schemes concurrently (KF and QFF).

Did any if you had any issue pushing the EDRCC into momentary credit ?

Thanks in advance

Hi All,

I have stumbled across this forum/thread whilst doing some research on credit cards.

I am currently spending between $500k and $700k a quarter on my AMEX Business Platinum card on payments to the ATO for BAS/IAS.

I haven't had the time to read all 150 pages, but is it true that I am better off using a different credit card?

For a small negotiable fee I can set you up....still using your AMEX to pay the bill ;) ha ha ha
Save you time and 150 pages of reading.
Points to you points to me...is that not the point of it all?

Better cards to use may include thee Citibank select or any other 1 point per dollar card. The Amex is most likely warning you half a point per dollar and has a higher fee at the ATO. Have a look at the select site. I think Cove occasionally uses a Westpac plat card for earning to other airlines not in the citi selection. Some use the Citi SQ card too I believe.

the common factor is non-Amex for lower fees and minimum 1 FF point equivalent per dollar.

There is a new secret and I have it.....using AMEX, But there is more work involved.
You two are behind the times.....

Hmm. At $995 a time, to pay 700k you be spending a good # of your life. You'd need to be on 1.5 ppd to even start thinking it was worth it, I'd happily forgo the extra points for sanity and time, but there may be a new secret of which I am not aware.

in the end we all play the game to the extent which we can be bothered. I won't be loading and unloading gift cards for points but I wish all the luck to those who do manage to beat the system while it lasts.

This is really the key, I have never really been bothered to follow up on whether there were better deals around in terms of earning points. But I am starting to change my tune, especially now that I am only get half a point on ATO transactions.

But this 'secret' spoken of is intriguing. Who would have thought that half a point per dollar could be anything other than half a point per dollar?

So the cats out of the bag......
Now you put me on the pay roll, I can followup the XS gift card for you and stand at the counter and machine buying and using the card to pay your $500-$700K 1/4ly tax bill.....(this is the time work\factor)
I probably can ensure you have the right 1.5point card too.....or Cove etc....
Citi Select would probably save you time
Woolworths is a must card due to Unlimited Cap on points.

No one really discussed Centurion card points cap yet right?

Ha. Sounds like you could sell sand to an Arab.

Or 3 points per dollar using Amex:D

Pity about the PITA process & the very low AMEX cash transaction $ cap.
