Was just about to fill out the application :(

Re: Delay in Citi Select Rewards Point Posting
Looks like CitiSelect is no longer giving points for ATO transaction. I rang up today after finally seeing no points given for ato transactions(all other transactions posted points perfectly) in my March statement. Citiselect CSA confirmed that ATO transaction was being classified as non-retail and thus no points were awarded.

I thought it was only a matter of time after the Amex debacle, time to start using the CBA diamond Amex then

and some, such as Amex, only give you 1/2 point per $ when paying ATO...
Is this an alert ? I have an Amex Ultimate and I have used it to pay the ATO. I have never checked the gross points credited against my gross monthly spend. I've just assumed that I was getting my 1.5/$ (or 2.5/$ on QF spend).
One problem about checking the points vs. spend is that points accrue on a calendar month but the spend in my case is 7th of the month to 6th of the following month.

Still good. 1.5 earn on my latest statement & on-line view.

Best way to review is on-line. They pop up within a day or two.

Still think VISA or MCARD is the most economical way to go

Understood, but maybe need to understand that a retired person with a large (>$40K) limit on an Ultimate is probably going to struggle to churn cards. My Visa has a large limit (>$25K) but low-capped earn. I use it as the Ultimate backup. Before retiring, I put a big effort into taking every offer to get larger limits and settling on those two cards as I figured I didn't want to be arguing about income taking out new cards post-retirement. My income is good but I don't know how CC issuers would view it for a retired person. I don't want too many nosey questions ;).

Makes perfect sense.

Very few have been lining up for re-financing valuations over the past few years

Has anyone with a Citibank Signature seen whether the ATO payments are still picking up points? It seems mine has on the last lot, another payment due tomorrow but bit hard to follow as I've purchased a couple of cars on my account in the last 3 weeks which seems to have caused a bit of havoc.

I made a load of payments to the
ATO on 28/2/13 on my sig select & got the points. I need to pay more today but I think I'll use the CBA Amex diamond until I know what's going on

Do you mind splitting the bill by putting a small amount on your Citi to see what happens?

(Sorry I don't have a bill to pay at the moment to try it myself)

If you are retired with a large income then I would suggest that your occupation is NOT "Retired"
My suggestion would be "INVESTOR" and follow up with a copy of your tax assessment. At the end of the day that is what they want to see IMHO

Sorry I paid it on the CBA Amex this morning, I always find Citi hard to keep a track of the points anyway as you can't view a points statement like Amex, I put so much personal stuff through it that its constantly changing. I only really notice the big jumps in points when I pay a tax bill and I certainly don't check every transaction gets the points.

I'm guessing its game over with Citi though. They've played it well; wait until all the disgruntled Amex cardholders switch over to Citi ( & pay $700 ) after the "enhancements" turn a blind eye for 6 months as word gets around and more people sign up.

Then pull the plug :(

On the plus side I've accumulated just under a million Citi points since September and I checked today & they're still there. They haven't taken them back so presumably it's not retrospective.

That really would irritate me.

Does anyone have experience using the ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum (ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum - Platinum Credit Cards | ANZ) to make ATO payments?

I'm concerned by clause 22(a) that says points "will not accrue in relation to . . . government charges . . ." I'm assuming that ATO is not a government charge in this sense.

I don't know that card but most of them have similar clauses. Citibank has had that clause since I got the card but they have paid points on ATO transactions up 'til now

I think it just depends on wether the individual bank chooses to enforce the clause or not
