ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

That 30% trust tax proposal was going to put more than 10% of our business customers into a very tight cash flow position.
I am very glad the proposal has gone into the dustbin for 3 years.
It feels like there is a greater level of optimism in the economy.

Still think it was pretty easy to rearrange things to minimise the impact.

The economy is not looking good for overseas trips...
Hence trying to decipher the codes in this thread.

Sigh. I am less than fond of the treatment of exercising stock options in Oz and short-term capital gains. Mr Katie informed me of our accountant's indication of another very large tax bill for him from the 17-18 FY. The measly $6k or so that I hope to get back on my tax return really doesn't make up for it.

On the upside, even though we'll have a large bill to pay, if he didn't get the options, we wouldn't have the amount that we'll get to keep at all. It just seems like such a small amount compared to the overall income. Oh, and points! I guess there might be more BankWest World points, or I'll spend some time trawling through this thread to figure out the best way, if there's any left, to pay the bill.

It seems to work on BW World, but there is no reason why it shouldn't work with others.

I'm pretty sure I know what you're talking about here, and the answer is no that 'method' does not work with most cards. BW is one of very few.

I did a tester with the dragon and it didn’t award points. Didn’t even show on the rewards account with 0 points. Just nothing.

Have others found the same thing with the Dragon lately? That's the first I've heard of points not being awarded.

It was a workaround with no surcharge, which is not anything that I believe has been discussed in here before, so perhaps very BW specific. I have an idea of what it might have been, and if so, I don't expect using that method of payment would result in points being awarded on most if not all cards out there.

Dragon is still working on everything we put on them.
I have lent our BAS to a family member this month because I can.
He seemed pleased with the idea.
