Auckland QF Lounge Reopened 30th June 2022

Whilst better than the J lounge it really wasn’t a Flounge in comparison to SYD/MEL/LAX.
The current SYD and MEL First lounges were opened in 2007.

The AKL First lounge was built in the 90's and is the last vestige of the First design concept for Qantas lounges from that era.

Separate First lounges such as these existed at various locations such as SYD, MEL, BNE, AKL, BKK, SIN & HKG.

when I say adjacent I mean turn right instead of left after the desk.

I think the point was it's not called a Qantas Club (none of the international lounges are), it's a Qantas International Business Lounge.

Well here I am in the "By Invitation"/"First" lounge at AKL and I must say I am having distinct "deja vu" feelings: it appears to be very much the same as when I was last here 3 years ago! I agree it is about the same as the domestic J lounges, maybe better wine choices...

Could anyone please shed some light what beer brands are on offer in the AKL QF lounge? Do they also not serve alcoholic beverages before lunch time?

International lounge. Alcohol available at any time.

If I recall correctly both sides (or both lounges) are self-serve alcohol.

Heineken full and light and Steinlager pure in abundance.
Being an international lounge the bar is always open, which is just a fridge on a counter.

They used to have Tuatara Kapai but I think that's now APA. Not sure if it is still there.

This hasn't happened yet.

Stephanie Tully was quoted as saying this in a Qantas press release this morning, regarding changes to the Auckland lounge:
So this frequent flyer notes the following differences in the Auckland lounge:
No magazines or newspapers
Food is identical to last year
Seats look the same as last year
Tucked well away in the corner by the amenities is the coffee cart.
Big effort, Steph
