AKL QF Lounge (Invitation Only Business area) no longer serves Party Pies - was a zoo yesterday afternoon.
As QF do not have flights with first class from AKL old "first class lounge" is meaningless. Both areas were not that large to start with.Do you mean the First lounge? Or is there a new invitation only business class section?
The old original business lounge (behind the automatic opening frosted glass door near reception) - there is no first lounge @ AKL.

Slightly OT but Wellington lounge well and truly open (July 16). In need of revamp but a nice simple lounge. Limited food offering - scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, yoghurt etc. The escort to the gate to board first was a nice touch.

Sure was! I had a reasonable connection time too which was fortunate given the delay.@BrettV I assume you were on the am flight. I was on this too. The long hold on SYD taxiway was annoying but luckily I booked a long domestic connection.

It’s just the AKL First lounge. WP only. It’s not a business lounge so not sure what they’re on about. Business and SG can’t get in and never have.I didn't notice this. Is this just a quieter area of do they limit it to J / WP pax?
This is correct. It’s just the AKL First lounge. WP only. It’s not a business lounge so not sure what they’re on about. Business and SG can’t get in and never have.
Happy to be corrected with recent facts.
So no change. The First lounge is by invitation only. You are invited by the staff to go to it when you front up to the counter. You are also free to use the QC lounge. Thas a larger business centre. This is correct.
I'm not sure if QR have/had a service but other than that possiblity, Finnair were the last (then) oneworld carrier to use it as such.
Other than that it has been an "Emerald" lounge for the last decade or so.
To be clear, definitely it is not a designated "Business lounge".The old original business lounge (behind the automatic opening frosted glass door near reception) - there is no first lounge @ AKL.
Do you mean LAN? They had F over a decade ago. Don't think Finnair have ever flown to AKL.This is correct.

Off topic.Yep LAN

My experiences predate the existence of the EK lounge by maybe a decade and a half.EK lounge was always superior

Very true, but the quality of the hot food is better than the adjacent QC and I like the cosy ambience rather than the very large space next door. When I flew through AKL in 2919 connecting to SCL (QF metal to AKL then LA to SCL), our SCL flight was rescheduled to be 2 hours later the day prior. The QF lounge did not stay open and we were turfed out when the last QF flight left (about 2 hours prior)
Whilst better than the J lounge it really wasn’t a Flounge in comparison to SYD/MEL/LAX.
