Just got the email with an enrol link. Benefit is available to both primary and supplementary cardholders.

Called up to ask if there was any compensation for losing the AFR. Got told no. Even after I threatened to cancel my Plat Charge. Dude didn't want to help at all. I bet they're getting a lot of calls about it lol.

So I just called again and went straight to cancellations instead. Was offered 120k straight away. But that was for retention (and not for the loss of AFR).

was your card renewal coming up?

Part of the The Australian Premium subscription is:
Access to The Australian Business Review, with reporting and analysis from some of Australia's most experienced journalists and coverage from The Economist and Harvard Business Review.

Anyone got the activation codes or links for the The Economist and Harvard Business Review?
How should it be accessed?

it is simply a fancy name for the papers business section .. the additional access you get is for Wall Street Journal. Go to your My Account to get the special code to activate that.

You can see HBR here as a section but it is very limited

here is the business menu (cut off)

did they ask you a reason why you wanted to cancel..or u said that you were considering to cancel or just you wanted to cancel....and they offered the 120k?
I told them I wanted to cancel because the card was losing value and I didn't like that they got rid of AFR

Thanks for the head up.

Just wondering if this message can be re-worded so that it sounds more misleading.

I just signed up for the Australian (although I never like right wing newspapers), hoping that WSJ may be interesting. I just received "tomorrow's front page today" email. I looked at tomorrow's front page and the stories and their editorial quality. I simply vomited and right now am choking on my own vomit.... Amex, why do you have to put us, the people who pay for your bonuses, through this cough?!

I read / watch all slants ..and trust me some dodgy extreme stuff on both sides. I have committed to giving The Australian a shot and there is definitely some quality content on there ..I just didn’t expect to have to fish around for it ..the newspaper is further to the right than I thought (almost for the sake of being so it appears) ..facts are coming led with editorial in way too many areas ..however I am going to plod on for now to give it a fair go despite a few cringeworthy titles and commentary pieces as @lepetitprince was alluding to above

there Business coverage is more comprehensive than I thought which is welcome (given we just list the AFR)
