Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

That was not a good example of democracy. Say what you will about Dan Andrews but he at least listened to and gave an answer to every question (not necessarily saying he answered the questions in full, but he at least acknowledged them).

When called out on alleged mistruths she just denied them and moved on.

It also sounded like one or two journalists were deliberately asking questions in the middle of other questions to give AP an out for answering the difficult ones.

Regarding the student nurse:

"Extensive contact tracing has occurred around that nurse and we have identified one healthcare worker who was present at the ward on the Sunday when she was close to completing her shift," she said.

"That healthcare worker, pleasingly had not worked whilst infectious.

So that new healthcare worker, that had a small crossover with this individual, had been rapidly identified as a close contact and hence did not go into work yesterday and instead got tested."

Not good.

Would love to know if they were wearing their mask, or had it around their chin pretending to eat/drink the whole flight?

Masks do very little to stop you catching an infection - more pressing is the infected FA wearing it.

If I recall....barely flown...they don't wear them during safety demo?
That’s right, “to show the correct placement of an oxygen mask.” QF keeps theirs on during the demo and they even gesture taking off the face mask first before putting on the oxygen one.

I may even be thinking of REX....that was the last time I flew (Easter on MEL<>OOL).

Last time on VA was Jan.

But on one of these occasions definitely noted masks removed for safety demo.

The corrections have been coming thick and fast from NSW Health this week.

So much waffle from Chant on this one in the presser.

I'm sure I recall discussions about CRM software last year. No doubt some metallic standards were mentioned.

Wouldn't the minister be a contact in CRM and the multiple cases would be clearly visible?

VA explicitly state that the crew are removing their masks to show the "correct fitment" of the mast. They then play the pre-Covid recorded message.

She explained this, their process (& software?) didn't account for someone being a contact of two different exposure events and there were downgraded to a casual contact of one, the close contact one "trumps" the casual one.

You can have any system you like, as long as there are humans involved there will always be errors.

The important thing is that processes are fixed when they happen - you should be concerned when you see the same mistakes happening time after time.

I was disappointed because I thought it would all kick off again from there but sadly no....

And then AP shut down Bianca (Sky news?) for being rude.

My mistake - Bianca is actually a reporter for Sunrise (7) - the Sky News article was referring to their reporter (Ben Murphy) being "fobbed off" when he asked about the UK AZ tweet.

Ooooh AP - you really don't want to get on the wrong side of Sunrise! That's your key demographic!

I think you may have unleashed the dogs of war....
