The current “outbreak” in NSW is up to about 330 cases (think). This year, we’ve had outbreaks in basically every major capital city including larger ones in Melbourne and Sydney in January. We’ve also had countless “positive” cases coming in from overseas.
Despite this, hardly anyone has been sick and absolutely nobody has died. While the “outbreak” in Melbourne led to a higher death rate, I believe 75% of those who passed were in end of life care and did not receive proper treatment.
We now also have a huge proportion of the elderly community fully vaccinated, and 30% of the eligible population has received one dose (so dramatically reduces the chance of serious illness).
It’s most certainly time to start having the discussion.
