First case from watching Euro final has emerged. At The Crafty Squire.
"That [Crafty Squire] case is of concern — it is absolutely an example of how quickly this variant is moving in the short time we're seeing between exposure and being infectious," Professor Sutton said.
- Mildura Man (MCG). Plus household contact (So transmission in Mildura).
- 4 from Miss Frankies.
- 2 linked to Trinity Grammar.
- 1 social contact of Philiip Island cluster
- 1 linked to AAMI Park

- 1 at The Crafty Squire (Euro Final)
Total = 13 cases till midnight last night.
Of the newer cases the viral load at time of testing is lower indicating that the infections are being picked up earlier.
The average period of infectious days in the community will also have decreased.
With newer information
on people who did not seat near each other at both AAMI Park and MCG but have been part of transmission events the Tier 1 requirements are being extended, plus second testing required.
“Today’s AAMI park case was seated in an area of the ground that was not anywhere near the initial case,” he said.
“We think that transmission’s occurred on the pinch point on entry.”
“If you were on level two of the (MCG) Members Reserve at any stage and have already had one test, I am requesting that you obtain a second test when possible following your first test, reflecting that upgraded risk,” Professor Sutton said.
Dan Andrews:
