Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

If a shopper they took their time, including it seems a "coffee"..

I think there's a degree of conservatism with the times though. Looking at "Mildura man"'s journey back from Melbourne to Mildura. Contact tracing suggests stopping at Ravenswood at 12:45-13:30 and Wycheproof from 14:00-15:00. I am very familiar with this trip, the journey is about 1hr 45 mins. No way you could arrive at Ravenswood at 12:45 - even without stopping - and be in Wyche by 14:00.

That explains why the entirety of Prahran Market has been designated as a Tier 1 site then.
So the entire Prahran Market must close for 14days as all store holders were present & need to isolate for the 14 days?

Side note last night I heard (SBS news, generally pretty good, but veering left of late) they stated in USA 97% of new hospital covid patients were unvaccinated while 99.5% of recent covid deaths were unvaccinated.
I'd like to verify this, I'm little skeptical, but love it to be correct.

AAMI Park Case =
Transmission outside ground. Fleeting type transmission.

They were a Tier 2 contact originally. They had had a test due to this, which was negative.

Exposure site requirement was upgraded, so they retested.
This time they were positive.

So again this reinforces the 14 day period.

Curfew, further restrictions on exercise and businesses. Along with extra police presence and enforcement it’s possible
We need a curfew at this point and a serious conversation about the requirement for Click and Collect and takeaway shops to stay open. We need movement to stop and consider using logistics chains from other parts of the country.

State borders are becoming a high risk as well as NSW refuses to control their internal state movement.

  • Agree
Reactions: RAM
Jeroen: Ms Frankies

Sparked by a highly infectious case dining at the restaurant (This was before outbreak being known). Infections have then rippled out to staff and other customers and then household contacts.

I doubt they will further restrict exercise - NSW authorities repeatedly said there has been no cases in that setting.

I think Click and Collect / ask Big Supermarkets to do free delivery (exception for those without digital access) is a simple restriction to implement.

As has been said numerous times - curfew is for the psychological effects of this is serious - but I would have thought NSW is already there by now. The only people left to convince is NSW business community, including critical services.

I think I heard that all who attended the Greek Restaurant and the winery at the relevant times are currently being relocated to a med hotel. All of them.

What is the point in the curfew? There is little reason to be outside after 8pm anyway short of getting food or going for a walk.

Given SA's form, you'd probably be worried about that if you were being offered relocation....

Based on the already known cases at the Greek Restaurant and what has occutred at Ms Frankies, this sounds like an excellent idea.

Prahran market is a shocker, all staff that were present will have to isolate. I've already seen some stores announce that they will have to close for the 14 days.
I think Kindergarten and child care open is some sort of an admission from the authorities that children in the early stages of education cannot miss much/any more schooling than entirely necessary after last year (in VIC).
Childcare was only available to "essential workers" last year during the big one.

NSW cases just keep going up every day... I hope NSW starts to see a sharp decline in the numbers coming thru

Prahran Market website provides a bit more info.

While the market is in many parts quite open, obviously based on above they also went into the meat / fish section which is a lot more confined.

Marshall and Spurrier very upbeat today.
Well, they did shut it down very quickly so if people are abiding by the restrictions, then all exposure sites are almost known. Bit rank having enjoyed the dinner or the winery to see you ending up in a med hotel though.

I assume going into a med hotel is optional?

Nope. That was asked by the media but the Police Commissioner pulled out the Public Health Order statement. Im still trying to clarify the numbers because for some reason the media didn't really jump on it. Happening right now. They did this once before when there was a breakout at a multicultural secondary school.

Here it is
"Only 87 of the 216 people at the winery and restaurant have been tested so far, and all will be urgently moved into medi-hotels."

Might be paywalled.

NSW had 121 cases on 11/7.This is the first day since then that has exceeded this number.
