Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

Qld to open the domestic borders on July 10 to all except Victoria.

Anyone entering Qld who has been in Vic is now subject to mandatory 14 day hotel quarantine at their own expense, including returning Qlders. Should other states experience outbreaks of a similar nature, Qld reserves the right to introduce similar requirements in the future.

Seems pragmatic to me.

So all Australia is open to all except Victoria. Ouch.

So given the forum was locked over the Victorian announcement.

Victoria is going back to Stage 3 lockdowns in 10 key postcodes.

Have also requested no incoming international flights for 2 weeks.
Andrews noted in his presser that testing had shown much of the recent outbreak resulted from security guards in quarantine hotels not following protocols.

Good result but it should probably have been done last week, before people in these suburbs went on holidays.

Also mentioned that over 900 people in a few select suburbs refused at home testing over the last few days.

Hell, they may have employed actual security people who were managed to run those hotels. How bloody incompetent.

I think car pooling was the least of the riskiest behaviour they did.

Why so? You are virtually guaranteeing transmission if you share a car with an infected person.

ie Enclosed space and are very close for an extended period, and most likely talking for most of it to boost viral loads shed.

The car may also then be a source of fomite transmission to others later.

Agree. It was a "relative to other deeds done" kind of statement. All up, completely indefensible on every count.
