NSW: 291 cases. Expected to go higher in 'next few days'.
So sadly another death, and also 96 minimum (upto 200!)who were infectious in the community, and 304 in hospital

It’s been going higher for months.NSW: 291 cases. Expected to go higher in 'next few days'.
So sadly another death,
People in Aus had no urgency to get vaccinated months ago as we had covid zero & were told how well Aus has done blah blah.
What has happened to Brendan Murphy lately?
While that may have been your intention, this tread is about "Australian reports of the virus spread" and your post made no clarification regarding your statements only applying to NSW. Hence your comments being interpreted by many members as telling anyone over 50 that its their own fault if they have not been vaccinated, which is not true for many Australians. My comment was about Greater Sydney lockdown and restrictions, so what happens outside NSW is irrelevant to that. Over 50s have had ample time (over 3 months) to access vaccine in NSW, its a fact.
re the "not a race" call.....Well I don't see it as a race anyway, I mean we just have to get to ~80%, like many other countries are targeting. simple.I think the exact phrases were 'this is not a race' and 'there is no burning bridge'.

I’m surprised there hasn’t been a comment “I don’t hold a needle, mate”I think the exact phrases were 'this is not a race' and 'there is no burning bridge'.

If it was a race & you came in 20th or 80th even 4th, it's still a fail isn't it, every race has only 1 winner. That was never going to be OZ, with so many metrics, who even know's who the winner is / will be.
Have you see some of the silver & bronze medalists at Japan? not all smiling. runner's up at euro cup, the poms removing their runners up medal immediately once off the dias.
It's no race to me, just aslong as we hit our given target in a reasonably short space of time.
By years end I'd over the proverbial moon. be that 50th or 80th place.
Once many here can stamp their passport in 2022 I don't think they'll give a hoot where we finished in this 'non' race.
I always considered it to be a race against the virus taking hold.e the "not a race" call.....Well I don't see it as a race anyway, I mean we just have to get to ~80%, like many other countries are targeting.

Cantebury Bankstown area is growing the most, clearly a certain cultural event has also lead to more rule breaking
ok fair enough, so would we say that NSW has lost the race, whilst other states still winning the race??I always considered it to be a race against the virus taking hold.

What if everyone at the gatherings was fully vaccinated....would that be OK?Cantebury Bankstown area is growing the most, clearly a certain cultural event has also lead to more rule breaking
Its clearly a rhetorical question, because we generally know how certain people would answer that question. What if everyone at the gatherings was fully vaccinated....would that be OK?
How would this be enforceable? If the neighbours spotted people entering the house who didn't live there, how would they determine their vaccination status before dobbing them in? I know I don't have a green tick floating above my head.

And that point is completely missed in the "I want my fully vaccinated freedom now".
