I can't find any reference to 30 being the allowable number of visitors at that time. The public health order that seems to have been in place at that time allows for 100 visitors and even more subject to certain conditions.

Part 2 Residential premises 8 Directions about number of persons allowed on residential premises (1) A responsible person is directed not to allow more than 100 visitors to be at a place of residence, or more than 100 persons to use premises for the purpose of a holiday home or a short-term rental, at the one time unless—
(a) each visitor or person provides their contact details by electronically registering them by means of a mobile phone or other device at the time the person enters the premises with— (i) Service NSW, or (ii) a responsible person, and
(b) a responsible person— (i) has and complies with a COVID-19 Safety Plan that addresses the matters required by the approved COVID-19 safety checklist set out opposite the type of premises in Schedule 1, Column 3, and (ii) keeps a copy of the COVID-19 Safety Plan while the gathering occurs at the premises and makes it available for inspection by an authorised officer or a police officer as requested.

Extract from Public Health (COVID-19 Gathering Restrictions) Order (No 2) 2021
Commenced at the beginning of 2 June 2021

Ministerial Diection reduced number of visitors to 5 effective 26 June.

Division 2 Residential premises 9 Directions of Minister about number of visitors to a place of residence
(1) The Minister directs that each adult member of a household must not allow more than 5 visitors to be at the place of residence of the household at any one time.

Extract from Public Health (COVID-19 Temporary Movement and Gathering Restrictions) Order 2021

Can anyone provide information re the supposed limit on visitors of 30 at that time?

PS Not trying to nit pick just don't like the continual use of "illegal" when maybe that wasn't the case.
Snap, I guess....

QLD CHO said yesterday she wants NSW to get to zero cases before she opens the border.

NSW will never get to zero cases.

May as well erect the wall now.

With respect she’s a ‘lame’ CHO now, weeks left on her contract so let’s all put her on mute and hope the replacement is more relevantly qualified and understands what is going on.

@moa999 where did you hear this?
I'm guessing the NSW authorities press conference - guessing Deputy Premier

Here is ABC blog report (note difference between Wollongong/Shellharbour as moa999 said and ABC reporting just Shellharbour)

On the permits needed to leave Sydney

  • The permit system kicks in on Saturday
  • You can no longer go to your second residence "for a weekender", says NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro
  • You can only go to a second residence if it's for care and maintenance of urgent works or for animal welfare
  • If you have to leave to go the regions for work, it has to be for priority work
  • You can go to the regions to purchase a home — not an investment property
  • All workers leaving Greater Sydney will now need a permit, and further to that, they will need to be COVID-tested for the previous seven days before they go to regional and rural New South Wales
  • The Central Coast and Shellharbour will be treated as regional from now. So, if you're travelling from Sydney to the Central Coast or to Shellharbour, you will need a permit

@moa999 where did you hear this?
Barilaro said it was a key part of the new permit scheme to have Central Coast and Shellharbour declared as outside Greater Sydney. People from central Coast going to Sydney and vice versa will need to have a valid permit on their persons.

Surprised about Wollongong - Shellharbour/Kiama/Shoalhaven and Wollongong are pretty interconnected. Wouldnt a better boundary be the Royal NP/Sutherland?

This is great news for both Central Coast and the Hunter. We always felt a bit vulnerable with Central Coast being under the Greater Sydney restrictions and the 50km boundary that existed for workers traveling outside there.

A lot of tradies that work in Sydney live on the central coast. This is going to cause a lot of problems.

Bit late though unfortunately with substantial spread in the regions. Shame that there weren't police roadblocks implemented on the four major roads and 8 or so minor roads in and out of the metro Sydney basin.

Until they publish the full permit scheme artefacts we won't know any details. But you have to draw a line somewhere.

At the moment the only effective boundary goes from Eden to Albury to Wentworth to coughburn to Tibooburra to Boggabilla to Tweed Heads... Because there's cops with guns on the other side of those points...

Better late than never I suppose.
Our Public Health lead joked the other day on SM that we should have blown up the Hawkesbury Bridge.
I think he was only half-joking 😂

So a close contact who’s a worker at a Melbourne Kindergarten has refused to have a Covid test and now the kids and families have to do 7 days iso ?

I can’t fathom why your principles (anti covid, anti vax or whatever) would override your decency as a human being? But there we have it.

@Raf_epstein
