Still low, but 2017 didn't kick off until late July from those charts.
But obviously any form of social distancing and greater handwashing also stops the flu spread.

Dan having a presser between 3-4, not sure if that’s good or bad.
K-Mart store in Brunswick closed due to positive test

As well as the Footscray K-Mart.

Both Brunswick and Footscray are contiguous to current lock down zones. :(

I am not sure where your data is from, but this weekly report does not seem to indicate a flu outbreak. Yes the week is up, but it is well below last season and is at a very low level still.

Who said anything about influenza.
It’s the common cold that is spreading now.

I heard on the radio another school student in NSW from community transfer as well
I thought it had already been picked up earlier today in this thread, but apparently not.

NSW has 6 cases - 5 from hotel quarantine, 1 being an 18 year old student from the Central Coast. But apparently there are records indicating it’s a past infection and not an active case.

If that's the case then maybe we can have the conversation of how we can get to live with this virus because it is here for the long run.

Well I would not go there yet.

With a number in the 70s of late and with daily tests sometimes taking days to come back breaking the hundred on a given day is not unexpected. Though obviously not desirable.

Unfortunately it takes longer than a day to turn things around. If numbers are still high in a week, and especially if they climb then yes it will be really major problem.

The cases at present showing as as new positive tests would have mainly been infected when no extra measures were in play. ie They were in the pipeline.

I do expect extra control measures to be announced though.

Dan just confirmed 108.

No hotel quarantine yet mentioned. Buy 59 are under investigation and so some may still show up. But if so number not likely to be large.

I wonder how people receiving daily personal care will survive?

There will be many people who are totally housebound and reliant on external personnel to visit them daily for food, personal support and medical care.
