Anecdotally half of gay Sydney is also locked down with Covid. The site in Burton St Darlo is 5 mins walk from me and lots of the local gay community go there, as well as Rushcutters for Elizabeth Bay/Potts Point/Kings Cross.Definitely.
St Vincent's run the sites at Darlingurst, Bondi Beach, Rushcutters Bay
False negatives might also involve a few involve din the Sydney to Hobart given the Rushcutters testing centre is next to the CYCA
I was going to grab a pack of RAT's in Canberra before we flew out, but ran out of time. It would be a good idea to carry some, even if it's just to show a result to settle down any worry-worts along the way.Crazy isn’t it. At our Xmas gathering every adult except one was triple zapped (I will admit we do have some special access!). We are now working out when we want our fourth jab! Meanwhile at work I’m still trying to convince some numpties to get their first!
Fair enough. Consider a RAT then?
They also desperately need to fact check that crack pot from WA - Dr Zoe Hyde. She actually blatantly lies and gets away with it. Talk about fear mongering around the virus spread.

One new case in WA announced today and the person was already in isolation. However there are plenty of reports that testing rates have been low over the last two days - not exactly a surprise.
Let's face it. This pre-arrival testing hasn't really stopped the virus from turning up.
I wouldn't like to be one of your employees then...Certainly. But remember they’re not doing it for free, and they’re getting paid a hell of a lot on Christmas Day.
Could well be circulating rapidly and they might find out in a week. Who knows. If Omicron is indeed as mild as several initial reports have indicated, amongst a (relative to the world) highly vaccinated place like Perth with historically low testing - it might spread for ages before it gets picked up again.

Ah. The one so terrifying as to necessitate border closures. As per JohnM all reports say that it is the Delta strain
Heard something similar this afternoon from my hairdresser, who’s now on the positive list too.Anecdotally half of gay Sydney is also locked down with Covid. There’s been several superspreading events including a function at Darlinghurst Theatre which led to 30 cases.
I've been waiting for someone to say this. I was the same up until probably the last week. My Facebook has lit up with friends and family testing positive. Many triple testing with RATs to be sure as they can't get a PCR test due to the lines. Prior to that there wasn't many I could name as having it.Heard something similar this afternoon from my hairdresser, who’s now on the positive list too.
I did not directly know anyone who’d had COVID before the last week or so, and now have a number, including 2 from one of the teams under me.
I know of someone who worked 17 hours across two sites for two pathology companies. At public holiday rates they chose to work and cleaned up.I wouldn't like to be one of your employees then...
I'm glad I'm not their QC officer - the report they're going to have to write for NATA will not be fun. I suspect NATA will keep a close eye on them for a while'Every symptom I've had is COVID': 400 cases wrongly told they are negative by Sydney clinic
Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital reveals its pathology service incorrectly messaged 400 people to tell them they had tested negative to COVID-19 — when they had in fact tested positive.www.abc.net.au
Maybe this is a good lesson as to why overwhelming pathology labs with hundreds of thousands of unnecessary swabs taken from people who are completely healthy is a bad idea.
Same here, I worked an 8 hour shift on Christmas day, and rostered on for NYE as well.No one thanked me for going in to work on Christmas Eve or Christmas night all night. Because it's my job and I'm a grown up...
