The one case in WA today listed by @HappyFlyerFamily , still linked to the delta outbreak, has been in quarantine and not infectious in the community. No new exposure sites.

All close contacts of the omicron case have returned negative results. The delta vs omicron conversations seem to be dominating chit chat about covid I am overhearing. Very few masks out and about in the community after the requirement was removed.

Meanwhile, unlike people, RATs are now allowed into WA, but it's not clear when they will hit shelves.

Without becoming political the complaining from WA hasn’t really changed. I agree that 34c is ridiculous but WA needs to diversify its economy to try and be more stable to remove the boom bust cycles which result in wild swings for the whole WA economy.

Tourism could be one of those industries but you know, we’ve created too much sovereign risk around that industry.

The airlines would like WA to get back to normal particularly QF who need to find a home for A330s.

Child under 5 among 18 deaths in NSW​

Dr Chant has provided more details of the record daily deaths in NSW.

She says a child under the age of 5 is among the day's tally, which also includes six women, 11 men.

She says the child from south-west Sydney died at home and had significant underlying health conditions.

A man in his 30s was also among the deaths, and died at the Prince of Wales Hospital.

"Can I just express my sincere condolences for those that lost their loved ones," she says.

I do.

Me too, owning a car is completely uneconomical if you live in city or inner burbs.

I can easily walk to/from essential things - cafe, supermarket, chemist and taking the Bus or Uber to/from work, social outings, dentist etc, costs significantly less per annum than annual costs to run a car (petrol, service, insurance, parking) let alone the cost to buy one.

What is really pleasing with the states that have managed to create a webpage to report RAT tests is that they appear to be alleviating the pressure on the PCR testing sites (and our collective taxpayer $$)....

ICYMI NSW are adding the RAT reporting to the app, not building a separate web page, expected Wednesday I don't think it will make a material difference to those lining up for PCRs though, as the big drop there came when domestic travel testing was introduced.
