The lawyers have not been consulted either. You can make loopholes, but the tort of negligence remains in place. When it comes to surgery - the standard is higher. There will be a long tail, and lots of juicy fees and medical experts going forward.

So don't catch public transport but if you work in the industry, go to work.

Who makes up this stuff? Why can't people use PT if they're fully vaccinated? Stupid bureaucratic nonsense yet again.
But is is only the essential workers who are close contacts who are not allowed to use PT. Normally they would be isolating at home.

And why are essential workers in PT allowed to work (say the bus or train driver) but a nurse or abattoir worker who relies on PT to get to work not allowed? Doesn't make sense.

There’s a lot of people elected into Parliament who have not done anything outside a lobby group/staffer/union/business lobby. They’re making these decisions on zero experience.

The ones making such decisions don’t need to take public transport because they Zoom in.

Lots of nurses and hospital workers take public transport to work, because they can’t afford a car.

AFF members would be pleased to know that those nurses that can drive to work have to pay for parking for the privilege of working in a hospital.

If respiratory symptoms are present, should the person self isolate whatever the cause of the symptoms?. May be Covid or some other virus. So if already going to self isolate why test?.

Only need to test if going back to work or if the symptoms are bad enough to go to hospital.

The daily focus on the number of daily Covid cases, number of Covid hospitalisations etc still don’t look at the big picture and are focused on only one cause of hospital admissions

Here is the big question: How many admissions are there for Non Covid reason (Covid negative).

Covid is not the only disease that can clog up the hospitals

Yes, very true, but who making comments on this thread takes public transport?
Me, and I work in the industry. It's a ridiculous piece of policy designed by suburban government work-from-homers earning $80k+ per year with two cars in the driveway who have no concept of the real world.

At 972,455 positives recorded in Australia since the start of the pandemic, tomorrow will see the breaking of the 1 million barrier.
