AFL Clubs being investigated for COVID protocol breaches

The AFL is urgently investigating three clubs on the Gold Coast for potential breaches of the league's COVID-19 protocols as close to 400 people prepare to fly to Queensland to enter quarantine hubs on Thursday under the AFL banner.

I just cannot understand why the various governments keep making exemptions for these overpaid boofheads and their families and then acting surprised when they act like overpaid boofheads.

Except I heard earlier today it wasnt the players but the family members travelling with them, assuming its the same situation.

Indeed. Like one partner wanting to take their children to Movieworld.

The clubs have to adhere to a much stricter set of restrictions than the general Queensland population, and some of the partners did not fully appreciate that. It has been reinforced with them.

The breaches that I have heard of are all things that all Queenslanders apart from AFL players and their families are allowed to do.

NSW coronavirus spread: Confirmed cases close Bonnyrigg Heights school and preschool in Prestons

Fairfield Mayor Frank Carbone posted on social media on Wednesday night that Freeman Catholic College in Bonnyrigg Heights in Sydney's west would commence online classes from tomorrow until next Friday, due to two students testing positive for COVID-19. Urgent contact tracing has begun.

EverLearn Preschool in Prestons will also close tomorrow for deep cleaning and contact tracing, after a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Well after a fairly horrifying day, continued community spread in NSW, QLD community transmission beginning and more deaths in VIC here is a little relief...

The very very popular Victorian CHO Brett Sutton, who is by far the most popular CHO in the country, has had a entire homeware range designed after him, mugs, bed spreads, coasters, pillows you name it. Google if you want to buy 😂

'Victoria's Chief Health Officer, number one #covidcrush for many Victorians, Prof. Brett Sutton,' the items' description reads.

And on tonight's Channel 7 news Brisbane a little bit more info on the 19 year olds. They travelled to Melbourne with the intent of stealinng from high end fashion places plus attended an illegal party.Police a treating this as a criminal investigation.

Oh dear, what low life's - and now they have caused million of dollars damage to the economies of at least two states, impacted other peoples health and could in the next 4 weeks have caused one or more deaths of other innocent people.

Apparently SA's rep (pictured below) has a cult following also. And the Spurrier haircut. People embracing the grey!

But hairdressers report more inquiries about her style that is “empowering” women to embrace themselves.

She’s also had drinks named in her honour as well as internet memes and songs created about her.

City bar 2KW’s “Nicola Spurrier” gin, apricot and rosemary coughtail – to “guide you through a dark time” – is among its most popular drinks.

I think her hair looked better before they did their blowwave.

I happened upon a recently aired episode of "Medical Emergency" showing a young Dr. Brett Sutton working in the emergency department in the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. Good to know he spent some time at the coalface. His experience there has undoubtedly carried through to his work now.

What I don't understand is what went wrong on arrival at BNE for the pair. When I arrived from MEL on 22/6 my name was checked against a passenger list and then my border pass and driver's licence checked to see if the same name.
the TV reports last night showed the same set up at the QF end of the terminal as when I arrived with a long line of seated police checking paperwork-of course it might have been shot some time ago.At the land border the police check phones to see if evidence of being in a hotspot-photos etc.Seeing there were already announced SYD hotspots surely SYD pax should have been better screened.

What incredibly bad judgement to go on a shoplifting spree during a pandemic with border restrictions in place. This will affect the rest of their lives, not in any way discounting the effect it has on other people‘s lives, possible deaths, and the economy.
Their families must be distraught.
this explains a lot

Along with Medicine and Surgery, Emergency Medicine is one of the three mandatory terms for Interns. Somewhat ironically this requirement has been waived for 2020 due to the pandemic.

I flew into BNE on Friday from SYD.
The process is as you describe. There was no checking of my mobile phone though and did not see any of the other passengers having theirs checked.

Society is soft on these folks and they will probably get away scot free.
There is a glaring source of Covid spread across Au ...but I am not permitted to utter it…..
