Another school closed in NSW as community transmission case detected
A high school in Newcastle, NSW, has closed today after a confirmed case of coronavirus in the community.
St Pius X High School at Adamstown will be shut for the rest of the week to allow for cleaning and urgent contact tracing to take place.
It is not known if the case is a student or another member of the community and no source has been identified.
Melbourne's stage four lockdown has taken effect this morning, with non-essential retail stores shut and permits required to travel to work and access childcare. Travellers from Victoria into NSW will be placed in hotel quarantine from tomorrow.
