Not really, it's moving to low risk but requires 14 day home quarantine. Other states can't transit SA by road otherwise they are also subject to quarantine.

Pressed post halfway through.... so irritating.... and he’s so hard to listen to... such poor speaking skills ;)

Hard to believe SA families won’t have a WA Christmas :(

Well I guess they can, but they'll be stuck inside for 14 days. Dan Murphys deliver... In the case of a close family member you could make that work. It's better than nothing.

Hardly an option for most.

Will be interesting to see what the old QLD CHO trots out on SA.....

The WA press conference was again laden with contradictions and lies - honestly I had to switch off after the important information was stuttered out!

Well if no further cases should be able to go on 27/28 Dec without quarntine, as that would be 28 days since last community case form the parafield cluster. So could celebrate New Years (or orthodox christmas) just not Christmas Day.

Or WA family visit another stated, and return ince the quarantine requirment is removed in late Dec.

Unfortunately they only selectively listen to the health advice though in WA.... so although the health advice may be to open, there is no assurance or committment that the WA government follows the advice.

So your plan works on paper but is unreliable ;)

Not my plan just an observation of the supoosed facts. But I wouldnt trust WA or Qld Premiere.

That said I have just booked a fully refundable WA trip for next August, hoping there will be some sanity by then.

Maybe WA family could travel to SA for Xmas. By the time they’re due to return the quarantine free travel should be announced.

Yup works in practice but WA has had a habit of having selective hearing when it comes to follow their CHO's medical advice unfortunately, so there is no guarantee it would happen....

Time for all borders to be dropped and move Police back to their normal jobs. But all it will take is a negative rumour on AFF for McGowan to send his 50 troopers back and set up the roadblock again.....................................

Waiting for the day post COVID vaccine rolled out to sufficient number of Aussies, whilst allowing in only vaccinated tourists and visitors in, when a state premier get's unnerved by number of COVID cases popping up by visitors and overnight won't accept tourists into their state. Planes allowed to land per Scomo, but state premier forces planes to either return to their country of origin, or find another state who will take them in.

Could you image McGowan doing that? Could it be done? What would the ramifications be of this, with world airlines not sure which states would allow their planes to land in?

You are correct but I am hopeful they’ll make an announcement so people can plan even if that’s opening on the 26th. SA’s active cases should drop off in the next few days I think and by the weekend it will have been 14 days since the last 2 cases tested positive which will be reassuring. That should be enough for WA to make a border opening announcement “pending no further cases” Its the least they could do given its Xmas.

There are only 2 active cases here now. Overseas arrivals start tomorrow though.

Two negative tests now for the German travellers so people have been released from quarantine and great news for Victoria.

There is a date in March far far more important than Christmas I’m afraid. Wouldn’t get your hopes up at all... sorry to be blunt but they have not been acting logically or in a proportionate manner up until now - why would this change?
