So let's get this straight. Room mate of COVID +ve case....not high risk. AFL ball heading your way....RUN!
Not to mention 20+ Crows players and trainers who will be bumping around the city later that evening?

Oh my God. We are stuffed. This person is de-facto in charge of an entire state.

She has lost the plot today. Grant Stevens (Police Commissioner) said this morning it was not his decision but SA Health approved it. He was clearly not impressed. Her support has plummeted because it was the doona brigade who adored her, but now, cactus.

This guy used his kids head a few games ago to dodge the ball. (Second page) Maybe that's what she had in mind.

More NSW contacts identified and more exposure sites.

Good to see NSW vaccination rates increasing too.

Family who holidayed on NSW South Coast tests positive to COVID-19

NSW health authorities are working against the clock to determine when COVID-19 spread between the members of a family who holidayed in NSW more than a week ago.

So far 243 people have been identified as casual contacts with the majority (143 people) linked to the Trapper's Bakery in Goulburn.

Today only? I think the plot was lost by the Police Commissioner and CHO of SA ‘leadership’ team last year and never got back on track!

Update on the Victorian Outbreak. The way it is numbered has been tweaked to make it clearer.

The second Aged Care Resident is not yet included.

Hopefully the father will be case 1 in this cluster as that then will mean less exposure duration in NSW (ie as he is symptomatic that gives a known infectious period for him). If it one his family who infected him, then the total days of exposure in NSW will be more (as they are not yet symptomatic, if they infected him the total infectious period will be greater).

This article form SMH dispute Sutton's claims that the kappa variant is hugely more infectious than previous ones and also calls bs on the claims around fleeting contact.

“There is no epidemiological evidence that this virus spreads faster,” he said. “There is no clear reason to think this virus is spreading in different ways.

But his [Suttons] claim that the virus, if left unmitigated, would reproduce at an average of five cases for every new infection, is not supported by analysis prepared by Professor McCaw and others for the committee. Professor McCaw said the reproduction rate of the current outbreak peaked at just above 2 – before Victoria’s outbreak response began – and was now hovering just below 1.

Professor McCaw said the most alarming aspect of this outbreak was not the behaviour of the virus but the fact it had circulated undetected for weeks.

“We are being locked down because of their fear that they don’t know what they don’t know and there could be more out there that they do know. That is never grounds for a lockdown, not even for continuing one.”
