The at home tests are great we have been using them for a while, from different manufacturers. Will be interesting to see what the take up is here. Will it be similar to the UK.

We have obviously knew the TGA approval was coming and have been gearing up to deploy as well.

NSW following VIC’s school initiative with filters to try and reduce a bit of the spread

NSW Education Department scopes 10,000 air filters ahead of return to school

The NSW Education Department is looking to buy about 10,000 air purifiers to be used in the state’s classrooms to help mitigate COVID-19 transmission when students return to school.

According to a private tender document issued to suppliers late last week, the department is specifying it wants the supply of units that have high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) certified medical-grade filters. “The Department will be looking to engage multiple suppliers to deliver the required units,” the document says.

I have not seen it, but I am not a gambler other than Lotto.
Maybe the internet black sites?
Though 1:2 odds are not very attractive.
The odds are more like even odds (1:1) because for a number to be the same the next day would seem to be very unlikely compared to an increase or decrease if you look at the previous few months.

Yes, I wasn’t suggesting it would be in good taste of course. And the data could easily be leaked like all the security issues NSW had.

Yesterday AP had a go at NSW for not locking down either fast or hard enough. Today, with 6 local cases, her comment is “Let me make it very clear that the health of Queenslanders comes first and as soon as (chief health officer) says we need to go into a lockdown we will.” And she said not locking down hard and fast has nothing to do with Sunday's RL GF.

Honestly I just have to laugh at everything covid / state premier related these days it’s just so ludicrous.

AP is in a bit of a bind..
They guaranteed that they would hold the GF. (that's a full stop) and would suffer a heavy financial penalty if they opted out.
One might spin it as risking lives to save $ and face.
Monday morning it will be business as usual keeping qlders safe

I guess it wouldn't be a good look if lockdown was announced at 2030 Sunday night. ;)

Of course, we will be locked down right before the kids are due back to school on Tuesday after their holidays

There is no bigger sports event in South America than a soccer match between Brazil and Argentina. These countries last played each other in early September. The match was abandoned shortly after the start due to the intervention of Brazilian health officials for Covid reasons.

Surely this couldn't happen in the NRL GF this Sunday in Queensland? Not even Janastassia would do that? Would they? Surely not?

We've known that contact tracing is completely overwhelmed in Victoria, so how does the government know one third of cases today were because of "rule breakers" attending grand final parties?

Or is it just another convenient yarn to spin?

And are they fining any of them?

The problem with those advocating early lockdown is that they can't explain Melbourne. Not sure they could have locked down much faster.

There was always going to be a limit to how long people would put up with being locked down. As I see it, Dan has wasted much of that time, simply by being too ready with lockdowns. Whilst I'm sure much was necessary, a fair bit wasn't and that had the effect of burning the good will that existed.

You may have forgotten that Vic went into lockdown, but then stopped lockdown, before recommencing it again. By the time they recommenced lockdown the teacher, partner and parents had already spread the virus via transmission chains to hundreds of other people as they had been infectious for over a week prior to donut day.

Donut day was just zero found cases, what it really was though were hundreds of infected people floating about going to work, socialising, playing sport etc all spreading the virus.

So the bigger problem really was not when did the first lockdown start, but it being stopped (too early).
