The airlines have obligations as part of their certification to enforce international entry requirements for passengers. There’s a robust database that makes this quite easy. There’s no such requirement within our commonwealth laws to do the same.

If it were 1:100 for a one day visit, it's 1:50 for a two day visit, 1:10 for a ten day visit. Very rough and ready logic as real life would depend

If that were true, then the NSW numbers would be shooting up since the partial release from lockdown.

I would think the probabilities are actually very small.

What if the probability of catching Covid on any one day was 1:30000. That would mean how many years before it becomes 1:1?

Exactly, there are over 8 million NSW residents who have spent over 500 days in NSW who have not had covid.

Duration spent in the state is not really a determinant of your likelihood to catch covid. Comes down to vax status and behaviours.

Difficult to know exactly what that means. My only interpretation is the same as yours. Perhaps it's there for flight crew and people going back and forth almost daily? Save them getting tested every 72 hours. If that's the case, it does make the whole thing sort of pointless though.

Ha we fly so much freight around (as well as our human freight assets) I can literally look at someone and tell you how much they weigh

That’s why I suspect this test before arrival is purely political to manage a jittery population until they get used to old mate Covid circulating around.

SA opening borders on 23 November. International arrivals need to do 7 days quarantine. No mention if that is home based. At 90% vaccination of OVER 12's then most restrictions gone. That is presumed to be by Xmas.

Not if double vaccinated. There may be a requirement for post arrival test. Details not clear.

SA leaves the WA alliance and joins the Christmas Alliance!

However of course they do it with the most convoluted rules thanks in no doubt to their chief hairdresser / health officer.

So Nov 23 fully open domestically but:

- If you are in an LGA with less than 80% double vax plus more than one local covid case you need to quarantine

- if you are in a LGA with 80-90% double vax plus more than one local Covid case you have to be covid tested (at the taxpayers expense yet again…)

- if you are in an LGA with over 90% double vax no test for you

Syd and Mel will need to hurry up and clean up their population denominators on their inner city LGA’s to fix this!

Plus this approach will lock out / put in restrictions for a lot of WA and QLD LGA’s if they don’t hurry up….

Those stadiums are in LGA’s that would be deemed high risk by the hairdresser…. But yes you could just lie and I think many will. No one could check.

Does not work for me visiting SA as I live in the City of Sydney… guess I’ll cancel my March trip then.

I'm fully vaxed and have a CBR-ADL return trip booked for mid-Feb (via MEL in both directions).

I'm not confident it will go ahead, as who knows what might happen Covid-wise over the next 3-4 months.

However, it definitely won't happen if I have to pay for a test at one or both ends.

Why would you pay for a test they are free in Australia (for the moment) but yes the chance that people will test positive is increasing every single day as Covid spreads around Australia.

It should be double vax for domestic travel. That’s it.
Period.
