Australian state border restrictions

It’s a change from Monday declaring that NSW would pose too much of a transit risk (whatever that means). The latest health advice might be a focus group.
OMG, so how can he change from NO-WAY on Monday & not to this, yep ok I'll change to high risk........all that WA residents travelling to Syd to go O/S, what, that's not possible or going to happen or just doesn't pose any risk anymore??

so silly.....he stated Extreme Risk was 500+ cases over 7 day average, NSW below that so remove X-risk, simple Mr MClown.

And what is the next qualifier? NSW under 200 cases a day. Makes zero sense for fully vaccinated to have to do 14 days quarantine if they have tested negative.

Basically this only opens way for returning WA residents to come home via SYD, does nothing to make tourism or business travel from NSW feasible.

Correct - nothing for visitors at this stage But the 'roadmap for reopening' to be released this friday!

It’s still for approved travellers only so it does even guarantee returning WA residents either

The drop to Medium Risk is supposed to happen when they get under 50 cases per day. But given how long it took to get from Extreme to High, it's really anyones guess.

Will be the biggest pile of LOL we’ve read all year I’m sure. I wonder if the Perth kindergarten kids are putting the finishing touches to it as we speak 😂

I'm sure they're running border control 'focus groups' as we speak. Whatever looks best...

I hope the pre-requisite to attend the ‘focus group’ is finishing primary school and having a full set of teeth 😆

We wait with bated breath….. 😂 My parents are desperate to escape the prison state…

Two theories as to why: legal advice, and the case in the news of the man whose mother is dying getting into WA.

Shame the gentleman concerned had to show his desperation via media to get any sort of response from the WA dictatorship government. Only realistic back up plan for anyone who needs to get to Perth in the sad case of a dying family member.

The fact that WA relented at all indicates how the tide of public opinion is turning, even there. Previous sad media stories have tended to be responded to with "keeping WA safe, everyone under their doona, too bad so sad, etc"

WA releasing COVID transition plan on Friday. Finally! Hoping some specific dates are set

Let’s just be thankful if it’s written in legible English…. Set your expectations very low because I suspect a lot more political garbage is on the way…

I still have a faint glimmer of hope for Xmas given the turning tide of polls in WA on border openings - but it is VERY faint!

Like most other plans over the last year, it will be a nice looking brochure.

By Xmas..... That would mean we'd have a royal flush for Christmas Alliance.

I think we'll be stuck on something just below, which isn't too bad.

Won't it be what we already know, just on paper.

90% then open to all 1 or 2 months later.
At best & my guess 85% double juiced and open to all 4 weeks later.

At dinner tonight in Lonnie we were sitting beside 2 older women. One was saying how they should be stopping people coming in from QLD as lots of people going there from Sydney and Melbourne and then flying to Tassie.I nearly told her we were from QLD but didn't want to scare her.
