Australian state border restrictions

Hopefully things don't get worse in Queensland, otherwise backdate Iso requirements can catch people out.

Just ignore them

I've just cancelled my late April trip to Freo... it's no longer worth risking.

WA will be fully open by then. They won’t have a choice they are locked out from the world in a week as NT, Tassie and QLD shut them out finally…

Flying into Brisbane Tuesday, will get a test this morning. What proof of negativity (other than my personality ☹️) do I need to get/show, if any?
Edit: do covid test results appear on one's covid immunisation record perhaps?

Not the results but just the fact you've taken one.

@Brissy1
... and the rest came back negative ... an SMS is sufficient.
If anyone interested, the process was simply: complete an online form which includes the question is the purpose of testing for interstate travel, get swabbed, pay nothing suprisingly (private pathology).

Is this online form the QLD Border Permit?

Queensland entry pass Incorporating the Queensland Border Declaration Pass and the Queensland Travel Declaration

As is usual, Qld entry pass portal saying you can’t complete the new border declaration and get your pass until after the new system starts it seems.

From 1am AEST Monday 13 December 2021, border restrictions will change. The updated Queensland Entry Pass will be live at midnight Sunday 12 December 2021, if you are a Hotspot Traveller please apply after this time.

Wow - glad that I kept my original flights back into QLD for the 17th, if you were booked on an early am flight into QLD tomorrow you would be totally screwed if something went wrong with the roll-out of the new QLD entry pass portal when it goes "live" tomorrow morning.

Looks like the same implementation model as when SA opened up and that went so smoothly...

I arrived back in PER at noon yesterday. I am aware of the backdate provision, but have no idea where in Qld the latest cases have been and when. Longreach and BNE were the only places I visited. I saw something about a case on the Gold Coast.

Re-entry to WA was painless and quick. Officer scanned the G2G QR code and had to show MDL. I don't know whether that was as photo i/d, as I wasn't asked to take off my mask, or just a backup to indicate I wasn't flashing a G2G on someone else's phone. He merely asked me whether I'd been in NSW or Vic in the last 14 days. Out in a flash.

This time last week I was on the verge of pulling the pin on the trip, but decided to run with it. If Qld had pulled their reopening back from 17 Dec to within my window of being there, I would have bailed, knowing what Mighty Marko the Mad and Unmagnanimous is like.

Same reason as SIL brought forward to visit to her son in Tom Price to the day before SA opened their border. Sure enuf, he backdated to that opening day.

Last week we were told of the Tasmanian government's modelling for opening up the border on December 15th. it was for the 200 days from December 1. The assumption was that there would be 10 community cases on December 1 but only 2 known. Well there were none so already it is easy to suggest the predictions will be on the high side. However many in the heirarchy are sure the predictions are on the low side.

Predictions. Case peak on 15/3 at 387 per day.Over 25000 cases,636 hospitalised and 168 in ICU at maximum.
Hospitalisations peak at 243 per day,ICU admissions at 70 per day. Compared to the peak in cases those figures really don't stack up.

For our hospital Level 1 precautions -basically as now - if <3 in hospital.
Level 2. 3-9 in hospital + 1 in ICU. Visitors further restricted. Outpatients by telehealth. N95 masks everywhere.

Level 3. 9-13 in hospital, >1 in ICU or a community or aged care facility case. No non urgent admissions.

Level 4. Any in excess of Level 3 - Bring in the Army!

lol does this even remotely reflect the experience in Victoria or NSW.
