Australian state border restrictions

Tas will be on the cards as a last minute booking if Qld falls through. But I was reading the FAQs on the Spirit of Tasmania website. It says on the trip to Tas, you're basically confined to your room, but on the way back, you're allowed out. That's not very appealing.
My wife and I took the Spirit for our first trip to Tas back in 2008. The journey - and I cannot stress this enough - sucks. There's nothing to look at and minimal food options. (And this was back when there wasn't a pandemic.) We've been back a couple of times and flew even though it meant having to rent a car.

Well, there are 4 options HBA-MEL on days I just checked. Two are HBA-xBNE-MEL  🤣

$466 on Saturday week, all QF metal. Might be a use for my DSC TravelPass ...

Just checked - Still nothing! They must really have not been expecting this…. Cmon….

Couldn’t agree more. They come across as terribly childish. Luck seems to play a huge part in whether a state has real issue with covid. Qld in particular seems to have been very lucky. I don’t know that I‘d count on past luck as an indicator of future outcomes.
Tasmania and I also think SA have been the only two Premiers not engaging in the political bs against other states, nor against the PM.

I wish SA would return the favour! No point being allowed into Vic if I can't come home without quarantine.
Ha. Ya dreamin.

Yikes. Even going to Tasmania from Victoria seems like a bad idea, maybe even until 80% target reached. Economy on life support again soon...
