Avianca Brazil Amigo status match

I also dropped to bronze, despite crediting four segments to them in February. Totally screwed me for my next trip, leave on Monday. No recognition with LOT or Turkish now. Bummed about them lying :( Also gives me zero leverage when carrying extra equipment on board (which I pretty much need to do).

This is on top of this "status" not being recognised by Avianca (TACA), and getting screwed around on that previous trip too. I really wish airline alliances would make sure their members have their **** together before they can join.

Response I received to email:

Dear Mr. Silver,

In consideration of your email, we inform you that the period of validity your Amigo card was until March 03, 2017.

The categories of the cards refer to the qualifications of Programa Amigo members, divided into: Bronze, Silver, Gold e Diamond, that adds benefits to the Amigo Members, observing the rule of each category, according to Items 6.1 and 6.2 of Programa Amigo regulation.

Link to access the regulation: https://www.pontosamigo.com.br/regulamento

6.1. The Amigo Program includes 4 (four) Card Categories, namely: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond.

6.2 For the classification of the categories of cards, be adopted and the following:
a) Bronze: up to 14,999 Qualifying Points or 19 sections flown;

b) Silver: between 15,000 and 44,999 Qualifying Points or between 20 and 49 flown sections;

c) Gold: between 45,000 points and 89,999 Qualifying Points or between 50 and 99 flown sections; and

d) Diamond: from 90,000 Qualifying Points or 100 flown sections.

Therefore, we kindly ask you to wait for a new analysis in your Amigo account, where the rule of each category will be observed, being necessary the monitoring through the site www.avianca.com.br <http://www.avianca.com.br>, logged into your Amigo account.

But no reply to my question as to why it would drop to base level and not "soft" drop to Gold.

Just a note to say that my amigo number is still printing as *G on NZ boarding pass as of yesterday( lounge access and extra bag allowance were given in DUD) And my TG boarding passes today are showing *G
The Amigo website has me downgraded to bronze from diamond

Hmmm. Very interesting. It could be good news for FIFOSuit.

I received this over the weekend

Dear Mr. Silver,

In consideration of your email, we kindly ask you to wait. Because all the registrations that had dowgrade will be reanalyzed, in order to verify if we will keep the downgrade or not.
Atenciosamente,

Atenciosamente,

Well that's interesting. It's suggesting their downgrade process had a little too much throttle. I wonder how long we'll have to wait, though. It could well be several months giving how long it took them to get to this point.

Just advising I am in the same boat as many other posters Diamond --> Bronze. Not going to hold my breath on a review. I did try to credit a TG flight in June (BKK-CMB) but never got the points. Not sure if I want to attempt a missing miles claim.

Me too. And this despite getting it in writing that I would drop to Gold. They're getting an abusive email. I'm tired of companies saying one thing and then doing another.

Here's the email I got from Avianca stating it would be a soft landing:

I fired off an email last night. In the past Avianca has been fairly quick to get back to me.

I got a response overnight:

It's a start.

I got another response overnight saying my status had been changed to Gold, enforcing the soft landing.

Well done! Do you think this will be automatically applied to others, in time... or more likely each would need to chase O6 as you have done?

I'd be following up with them. It all seems a bit disorganised over at Avianca.

True, that - I didn't mind holding perpetual Diamond status, but I'd rather this was sorted on my watch, if it can be! :)

I have sent a number of emails and they've all come back as saying that I didn't meet the qualifying levels and therefor my category will remain Bronze. Seems like it's still a mess over there and inconsistent application of downgrades

I've also been downgraded to Bronze. Will email them to see if I can get upgraded again.

Team, whilst we've all been formally downgraded on the Avianca website, are there any recent experiences with the level printed on boarding passes / realised at airport?

Sorry for the delay. Unfortunately not. Not recognised on Turkish at all nor LOT. The service was good, however still not the "trip of a lifetime" flying wise I hoped it to be.

Edited to add: my Star Alliance Flights were up til 10th of September. Not sure what's happened in the last 6 weeks.
