I did a follow up email after a month and within a week was upgraded to Diamond til 2017. Matched my Alitalia status, which I got from matching my VA WP.

Undoubtedly, if approved I'll never get a chance to use it, but if they do offer a soft drop then it seems worthwhile just from the fact I can use it to match to something else in 3 years

Email came through Friday night saying:


In response to your email, we inform you that you need to send us copies of the highest category loyalty card from another airline, with name holder and expiration date.

Sent another photo of VFF WP card. Waiting, waiting...

I must be the only left in the known universe that do not seem to be able to apply; I did create a new account, but I did not tick the box to register in their FF program. Now overtime I login and try to edit my profile to register for the FF program, I get an error! :-( I even tried to register with a different email address to no avail :-(

Sent a reminder on the weekend. No acknowledgement of that - but emailed advice received this morning. Diamond, through to early 2017.

Now need to decide where to credit Star Alliance bookings for the coming year. Have had the initial SM, then a requalification with TK to date, and have given them quite a bit of business over the period.

Had a quick look at the Avianca T&Cs. Will need to go back again, with a bit more time at my disposal, but it seems that the Diamond/Star Gold card does not arrive until you have chalked up five eligible flights. Has anyone else found this? Apologies if it has been reported up thread. I don't recall seeing it, if so.

Expiry on 31/3/17. Even better!

Now when can I get the new Amigo card in plastic? I need it to status match other programs to Platinum level or above :mrgreen:

"this card" refers to the temporary card you can print yourself.

Applied 12th Oct - received Diamond off the back of my QFF Plat status.

Have just booked a SA holiday ... should be able to carry the 5 flight hurdle with ease.

Received my Gold Amigo staus matched to my Gold Air Berlin. Expiry 31/03/2017.

Have used Snipit and printed out two copies and then laminated them together same size as credit card.along with a copy of the status match letter just incase.
