re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

No 3x offer here. Maybe it will go live after the 2x offer finishes at the end of the month.

No, they've done this before. The transaction can only be completed over the phone and is quite limited...buy max 20,000 get 60,000.

It's live now until 23 May. However I do believe you need to be targeted and they can check.

Ok, thanks for the clarification.

Very nice of them to give people plenty of warning, especially so during their 2x1 offer.

Good point. I'm still glad that someone told someone and eventually word got around. :)
Yes, it has made me reconsider if I want to buy a few this time. Though I'm pretty confident there will be another offer before October.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Wondering if anyone can help me with query...

I'm taking family on lifemiles in Sept this year to US in UA F and BR J return. :) Looking to book trip soon a year ahead to make sure we lock in seats using lifemiles again on BR, but realised my passport will expire before then. It'll be OK for Sept trip this year (as i'll have 8 months validity on it) but for July trip next year i'll need a new passport. Is it OK to book a flight using my details and passport details at this stage, even though my passport details will change? does it matter as when tickets are issued by BR will they just have my name?

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Is there a really good thread that sums up all the r;ules, tricks and pitfalls of this program. I would like to buy miles. From reading the recent threads ( see I haven't been lazy) I have gleaned the following:

1. You can book one way awards
2. Taxes, fuel surcharges are reasonable
3. Availability on Singapore airlines is only 2 weeks before travel date
4. You can book online, but their website is clunky at best.
5. You can sometimes have more success if you use the single airline options, rather than the multi search option.
6. 8 hours transit time only

Is any of that incorrect, and as stated, any links to more detailed posts on the rules etc would be useful. If its useful I want a one way business award from either London, Paris Frankfurt or Rome ( can be really flexible on destination in Europe to make it work) back to Brisbane in late June or early July of this year. Thanks for any help and tips on getting that seat.

2. There are no fuel surcharges...only government / airport taxes.

3. Availability on SQ J CLASS, is available only at T-14 days for SIN-Aus/NZ flights...other routes are bookable earlier.

6. Sometimes this is longer, I occasionally see random 12-13 hour transits, however for the purposes of your proposed itin, consider it 8.

I doubt you'd have any issues getting what you want, TG will come to the party as usual I'm sure!

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Do TG release seats to LM like they do to USDM? I am trying to get 3 x J MEL-xBKK-HKG return for November. Currently, there are only 2 available, so I am wondering whether it's likely that TG will release another 2 if I book the original seats.

I had a quick look on EF at the first flight, and the cabin is only showing blocked seats with all others unoccupied.

Given you can't put the booking on hold, does anyone have a strategy for this situation?

They way TG release the seats will be no different. Whether it will work out or not no one can say.
