re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

just checked my latest statement - nice little box that says look out for the next promo... now can someone please tell the AUD to head back up north towards parity?!

Fingers crossed. Given that there's a handful of FF programs selling points right now (AA, US, AS), LM should get their act together and offer something before end of year :)

You can't get a hint any more obvious than this. "Coming Soon, the best promotion in the Americas will be back"! We all know the 2x1 bonus miles purchase won the Freddie award for the best promotion in the Americas, so it's dead obvious. Just a matter of when. Looking at last year's pattern, it will be some times in December. So if anyone missed the May and September one, or anyone who hasn't signed up, it's time to do it! unfortunately for me, I've maxed out my yearly allowance, so it's irrelevant to me.....

I think [-]I[/-] my friend can buy a few more.

I opened an account last month for my daughter which currently has zero miles in it, fingers crossed :)

Your daughter better start filling that account and burning the balance down by herself some time pretty soon :) Or she may become more than a princess than you could handle ;) :p

Joining is not an issue. I'm talking about buying. After you selected the miles you want to buy, you will be led to the billing page where at the bottom you have to tick "I'm 18 years and over of age and agree to the T&C......." Maybe that's referring to the person paying rather than whoever owns the account?

I got both my kids enrolled as well but never used their account to purchase mile. Damn! Should've bought more when it was still 1.5c each and when AUD was still 0.95 USD in Sept!

Any trick to get seats available for 3 pax in J, MEL-CDG? Y cabin is not a problem but J seems to be booked out whichever date I put in.
It is probably too much to ask to get 3 award seats in business in one go.

If you scroll up on this thread (I think ?) someone managed to get 3 J seats on sq sin-cdg which is not a bad option but then you just gotta find a way to get to sin

The only way I can think of is if you are able to hold Thai seats in another *A program such as United (do they do holds?). Hold 2 Thai seats and see if a third is available through LM (often Thai releases more after the initial 2 are booked). If it is, book the one seat through LM. Then cancel the hold with United. And then book the 2 seats with LM when they come back in to inventory (note: not guaranteed to come back, but likely). No guarantees but it might be possible.

Great tip, I'll look into this further. Not without risk but I think I'll take the gamble. Worse comes to worse I travel alone in J, while my husband and son are in Y. Or they travel at another date.

Thanks!

I got 4 tickets Mel -Cdg in June 2015 with Thai. However I had to book 2 at a time. However 3 and 4th were available straight away.

That's awesome joffaa. How did you pick the date? Just one that had 2 seats available then kept checking back for more seats?
Well done
