If it's under the permitted connection time I don't see any reason to worry about it.

It's not LM I'm worried about. It's Asiana. That's why I used EVA as an example. EVA used to be one of the most generous *A partner but they decided to be stingy. So who knows how long Asiana will be generous for.

There seems to be a trend towards that each airline is starting to protect their own FFP by reserving award space to themselves. This is understandable and unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it.

Just read some of the above posts then you'll understand what I meant.

No, the 8 hr rule is not preventing it. In fact up until Wed it was still wide open. There seems to be an IT glitch (fingers crossed) at the moment that any connecting flights with TG doesn't seem to be bookable.

I don't have access to ANA anymore - but doesn't it show SQ economy?

I'll write to LM on the SQ then.

Unfortunately, if you search SIN-LHR and select Singapore airlines in Oct 15, you will see that economy class is wide open! Everyday!

This is why it suggests my worst fear that SQ have eventually blocked award space to LM. The lack of space from Aus in the next 14 days may simply be due to the peak season so gotta wait and see and I wouldn't worry too much about it. (My friend just bought a ticket to Malaysia on SQ Y for $1700 departing next week, so I don't think SQ will be too generous now in releasing award space) So the SQ issue may not be glitch after all.

I don't think it comes as coincidence. It's just a few days since VA are allowed to covert to KF points. So naturally SQ would want more people to redeem their flights with KF points. Since SQ has 23% stake with VA, by restricting LM will make us Aussies no choice, but to get to Velocity or KF if we want to fly SQ premium cabins.

Ok, I admit I have no inside knowledge and I might be delusional, this is just my hypothesis but it makes perfect sense to me. I wish I am wrong, and I would love to be proven wrong in a couple of days, that all of it is just an IT glitch.

If any one has any insider knowledge, please prove me wrong!

the lack of availability in the next 14 days has nothing to do with peak season.

As I mentioned, as of wednesday midnight, there were 4 flights a day available MEL-SIN for most of the next two weeks (ie the booking window).

thursday morning that had disappeared.

I'm only whinging about it 'cause I need to go somewhere on wednesday!

I've been getting reasonably good results from emails to LifeMiles of late.

Continual error messages trying to book NH out of HND... sent an email and it was fixed within a couple of days.

Same again a few days later with flights out of ISG.

So here's hoping that your mails also get things sorted out.

I found some SQ J availability.



However, while ADL-SIN- KUL comes up with SQ J in an ADL-BKK search on 10 Dec, if I search ADL-SIN on 10 Dec I get nothing. Strange and hopefully signs of a glitch.

That is not a glitch. It is common to find different availability on through flights (aka "married sectors") vs. just origin/destination. Have seen it before on SQ (and also CX FWIW).

Ok, cheers. As long as I can fly out of ADL on SQ J (even with limited availability) then that's some consolation.

it's some error... because not even coach is showing available.

i think there are two separate issues... a) sq availability outright and b) in selected cases, failure to offer valid connections across a range of airlines (some are ok, sq/tg aren't. but I haven't tested more than that).

i'm still having this problem.

this route shows up on the krisflyer webpage, both legs are individually available to book on LM but for some reason, the system is not allowing a through connection...

annoying because flights are meant for 9 dec

that's good news! Thanks.

I got reply from LM, totally useless. They just kept telling me that award inventory is different from those of commercial fare, and telling me that the booking class is X/I/O blah blah blah and LM has no responsibility to provide seats whenever the member wants them as if I am a rookie. So I wrote to them again with screen shots of award space available BNE-BKK, BKK-CDG, but not BNE-CDG. Hope that will get their attention.

That's different from ketsuzei who could find award space, but having trouble booking them. I personally have no issues with LM on that as well. As long as the space is there, they will book it. Just like when I got my PER-GRU for 42500 in J, it also crashed at check-out. I emailed them, they honored the booking at only 42500 miles and booked for me and ticketed within 24 hours.

So I suspect if you can find space and it is within routing rule, they might be able to help you on the phone.

I have seen Captcha on LM before. It seems to kick in after you have performed a high number of successive searches. I assume it's to stop bots and scripts from running.

Whatever shows up on KF page doesn't mean anything. *A partners has a different inventory to KF's members. Traditionally SQ only release a very small amount of award space to *A partners and definitely nothing on A380/77W premium cabins. LM somehow had more access to it (but not all of KF's inventory), that seems to have stopped.

What bothered me was Nexus is also showing zero awards for SQ flights ex-AUS. That suggests that SQ might've pull the plug.
