re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

MH miles + pay is a reasonable alternative as well.

Still around the $3500 return to Europe.

At least you don't have to provide them your money till you make the booking, so a bit less risk.

Haven't flown MH however they do a good redemption chart if your generating Amex MR.. getting off topic here though.

MH redemptions are excellent but the product can't touch SQ for QOS. Good when you are on a budget.
Sorry also for OT.

[-]LifeMiles is offline. Anyone else, or is it just me?[/-]

Scratch that. working again.

this might be a good thing! I'm having difficulty logging on now... same thing happened the other day when we lost availability. Maybe they're fixing it!!

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

I'm much more of a thought to fly cheap to Asia on Jetstar or Scoot and then use LM for J redemptions to Europe...

If they can fix these silly glitches or loss of seats over the last few days...

MH redemption is also good when you are less flexible as it's award availability seems to be wide open. Say if you managed to use your LM to find a one way award to Europe on SQ, but having trouble finding any award to come back, MH is not a bad way to get you home in reasonable comfort. Yes, nowhere near SQ, but better than any Y. And definitely beats Jetstar or Scoot!

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

Jut doing some dummy booking for next October and finding SYD - ICN J on OZ easy enough and ICN - JFK F on OZ as well

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

OZ availably wasn't affected by the "glitch".

It is in the sense there's no through bookings. I can find SYD - ICN and connecting ICN - JFK J flights but you can't do it as a single booking

But this is nothing new...the connection time is too long to be offered by LM isn't it?

You can't get SYD-JFK in one ticket because connection is overnight more then 15 hours. The rule is usually max 8 hours with some flexibility but not that much.

They've found the problem!

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

It only means that the person responding had no idea what it was all about. Do you seriously expect their customer service agents understand it, refer it to the IT department, follow up later on results and write back and all in a matter of minutes? Never gonna happen.
These things need to go to managers, ideally to whoever looks after the LifeMiles program...my guess is that an extensive Google search may reveal some senior management people's email addresses and that's where these complaints really need to go to

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

Still seeing some selected TG/TG flights to Europe. SYD-BKK-MUC, SYD-BKK-FCO in F are both still showing up for example.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

OK I'm trying to catch up on this thread but I take it that this is NOT the time to start buying LM?

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

Not until the glitch is sorted - its now nearly a week.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

From another point of view, if we all believe it's IT glitch, then it should be sorted at the end, then no point wait.

BTW, has anyone tried to call LM to book flights with TG connection yet?

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

Got this as well, although there's no way I'll buy the additional 100k until the LM "glitch" (or whatever it turns out to be) has been fixed.

Apparently this extra 100k miles offer is targeted. I didn't get the email so I can't buy any more (not that I want to). My dad got the email and he can buy the extra 100k.

The only difference between me and my father is that I took the 125% bonus cyber Monday deal but not my dad. So I guess this is only offered to people who didn't take the cyber Monday bonus?
