re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Anywhere in the US really, to Perth or Melb... my friend is based in Denver

We know the screenshot method works to build simple itineraries where only complex itineraries are shown (ie you can book MEL-BKK when only MEL-BKK-SIN-CGK but not MEL-BKK is shown) but yours would be a good test case to see if you can build your own (complex) itinerary using the same method.

Assuming they are available separately you could try screen shotting MEL/PER-BKK-TYO/ICN/TPE and then TYO/ICN/TPE-xx_-DEN and see if they'll build it for you. Otherwise from PER, thinking outside the box, I know PER-JNB-GRU on SAA is a popular routing on LMs - you could see if you could add GRU-xx_-DEN onto that.

The only routing rules I know that you would need to comply with is no connections over 8 hours and must all be same class.

I would be very interested to hear how you get on with this as if it worked it would be a major upside of the very limited search function - as it cant build complex itineraries you might be able to build your preferred one yourself....

Am I reading the *A chart correctly - it is cheaper to fly from Australia to Japan (North Asia) than it is from Australia to Singapore (South Asia)?

Others to North Asia, 20K Y, 40k J one way. Others to South Asia 22.5K/40K. So assuming you are referring to economy the answer is yes, if Business they are the same.

Manila - Tokyo via Seoul in J - 22,500pts.
Manila to Singapore in J - a 3.5hr flight - 36,000pts.

Madness!

SYD-BKK in F, 60k SYD-BKK-NRT/HND in F, 50k.

Don't tell LM

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Is it too late to register for the xtra 10%?
you'll get the 135% now and the extra 10% a week later

i'm sure it's just the language translator at work but did anyone else realise the email said: Remember to buy miles from LM1.000 up to LM150.000, and the more you buy, you may receive a bonus up to 135%.

so you may receive this bonus, or you may not..............

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

In the experience of others, how long have you usually waited for your purchase of miles to show in your account?
I had money deducted on Tuesday but still no miles added to my account. TIA.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

getting the BKK-NRT/HND leg is the hard part trust me i've tried, very hard. especially for 2.
How did I not think to do this when I booked 2 xF on TG SYD-BKK for December this year. Rookie error!

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

last few times i've bought has always been immediate .. must be frustrating.. i'd say call them but talking to LM over the phone might not aid your frustration one bit

From Oct 25 til Mar 16,

For SYD - BKK, arrivals are 3.25am/pm
For HND, F flight leaves at 2.50pm so this is impossible to get since it's over 8 hours.
For NRT, F flight leaves at 8 am meaning we have to get TG471 arriving at 3.25am which operates only 3 times a week.

This is probably why it's difficult esp for 2. Looks a bit better before Oct 25 when F to HND leaves at night time.

Remember KIX too. I think from memory they have a double daily A380? They usually release 1 F seat per flight so you could split up?

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Rookie qu on my behalf as I don't understand this..

I'm considering buying some miles to get F for next Feb for SYD-BKK. Is a direct flight not the way to go?

Also, does anyone know what seat (if any) I need to get if I'm bringing along a 6month old baby?

For First class there is no other way except the non-stop TG flight.

Infants will require the payment of a cash fare, which is 10% of the published F fare. Which is going to be $400+ maybe (if not more). once ticketed, you'd ask for the bassinet seat.

I only see 747 these days, sometimes with A330 or 777 but yes that could be an alternative.

Thx for your quick answer/advice as always.

If I opt for J instead of F, are there other options?
