re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Brilliant - the "forcing" trick worked. Took it off smart search and made it use ANA and happy days!! Thanks!

Now to wait for a buy miles promo....

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Another query

If a flight connects into HND and out of NRT. Or into JFK and out of EWR

Does LM treat that as though it is a simple connection - or do they price it at 2 awards.

Single award, which can allow for some nice possibilities.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Well, my first ever booking and I need to use the screenshot method.

Trying to get +1 and a girlfriend SYD-BCN in June next year. Can't find any availability as a single booking but can find SYD-BKK then BKK-BCN
Fingers crossed.

I must say that the LM site is a pain to use.

To make it slightly easier next time use UA website to search for flights and then do three simple searches on LM (A-C, A-B, B-C) take screenshots and email them.

Once you do few times it becomes relatively painless.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Ive got a friend who has a visa to the UK, her boyfriend is playing silly buggers and has only booked her a one way ticket to England, planning on booking her return after she arrives as theyll both be returning to her country together once the visa nears expiry etc.

So if I book her a one way ticket from UK to her country to satisfy immigrations concerns in regards to return flights, am I able to cancel this ticket once shes arrived with no issues?

I imagine it should be alright as the booking will have been made from my account etc.

You can cancel, the fee will be USD50.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Cheers, the fees no issue, I just needed to be sure I wasnt going to have to jump through hoops to cancel a ticket in someone elses name.

A cheaper option ... Find the cheapest Ryanair flight from STN to Europe. STN to DUB or CPH should do it. Doesn't need to be a return to Aus, just an exit from the UK.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

This may have been covered - but anyone seen this glitch in the Lifemiles booking - where a first class "product" booking shows up at business class rates (and business class cabin)

Just wondering if you would happen to snag a first class lounge access.

how is this first class? Looks like it's business class booking to me, SYD to Tokyo does not have first class so even if Tokyo to Chicago is in first it's a mixed class booking at the best

On the bottom image it says "Product - First Class. " ALbeit the cabin is business.

well, if the cabin is business it's not First then is it? No idea what "product" means but it's definitely no indication you're getting F at the price of J - you pay for business and your cabin is business so what you get is business. "Product" is probably a bad translation from Spanish of something which is not that at all
In short, I wouldn't be too hopeful that you get anything F in this booking

Agree it perfectly matches the business class booking - quite glitchy system.

I am tempted to book and see what happens (even if it is only lounge access) - but the likelihood is it'll cause more grief then it is worth

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Already flown one of these first/business tickets. the cabin is what matters. Once ticketed, only that information is recorded on your eticket, since the cabin shown matches the award booking classes being ticketed. First -O, Biz -I, Econ- X.

I've got exactly the same booking in August 17 but it was for a proper mixed J/F with the 115K pricing so I know what I'm getting. Interestingly I did not see anything like that on the screen when I booked (about 6 weeks ago)

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Quick question for those with more experience with TG and Avianca. My flight next month (MXP-BKK) has changed metal from a 747-400 to an A350-900, but the scheduled times remain the same.

Will this cause any issues with the original E-ticket validity?

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

No. Only thing it might change is seat assignment.
