Re: Avianca Life Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here

Apologies if this has been asked/answered before, I searched but could not find:

Can anyone advise if there is a maximum number of screenshots that can be used to book an itinerary? (ie., apart from the first showing no availability, are three screenshots allowed?).

I am looking for MEL-BCN in J and can't find with less than 3.

Thanks in anticipation.

tb

Can def do at least 3 screen shots.

Got family to route YYZ -> BRU, BRU -> BKK, BKK-MEL all via screenshots and no issues.

TG F ex SYD seems really popular. Very very sparse availability in the next few months....anyone with great reports/stories of the experience? Done it twice in October and December and looking for another mini vacation in March, but alas...no availability!

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I have done TG F BKK-SYD but not the reverse. Thoroughly enjoyed it in that direction. Service is terrific.

I've taken about 6 trips ex SYD on TG in F and have only great praise for the service and product. The busiest flight was 7 (out of 9) seats taken and the least was 3, in all that time the service was top notch. The (new) F product was fantastic so much so that we have positioned ourselves ex SYD (from MEL) just to take the flight.

I remember our first trip on F from SYD and I had heard reports (after booking) of them running out of Dom because they only stock out of Thailand. For the 4 pax that we had on the flight - there were 7 bottles of empty Dom in the bin when we disembarked. I don't want to say how much we and SWMBO had ;)

Can a single LM account be used to book tickets under 2 different people's names? The reason I ask is that with these LM specials they've had lately with the bonus, it's more economic to buy bulk on a single account for two people as opposed to two separate accounts just buying a single ticket.

I believe you can buy a ticket for anyone, the acount holder does not have to be travelling. I am not sure I understand what you mean by it being more economic to buy on a single account?

Thats perfectly ok.

I've bought tickets for friends for one holiday, and bought 2 tickets for my parents to come back from europe in a few months.

less restrictive than say SQ where you need to register certain names.

I believe he wants to buy under one account so as to trigger a higher bonus rate.
there is no issue, as long as there is no irregular operations for the flight, which would need the LM account holder (not the traveler) to contact the LM call center for ticket reissue/change.
if within 24hours to departure, the operating carrier will have control of the ticket and thus the passenger can directly deal with operating carrier and avoid LM totally.
So, ok to book for others, but they'll need your help if they need to interact with LM.

From Melbourne > Europe it costs 170,000 points.

If I buy 2 J tickets on individual accounts, with the current special I'll need to buy 78,000 points (to get 169,951) which costs $2574USD ($5148USD for both).

If I buy 2 J tickets on a single account, I'll need to purchase 150,000 points (to get 339,751) which cost $4950USD.

The difference is about $257AUD.

This isn't really their best special and I'm thinking to travel later in the year so not sure as to whether or not I should wait or purchase now. With their 40% special as an example the savings would equate to a bit more.

Makes sense now. I thought you were referring to points redemptions rather than the buying current points stage of things

Thank you. But it doesn't seem to be working on my end, I get the following error: "Unfortunately this offer is no longer available. Please verify the information submitted and try again."

I must have just missed out... oh well.

Re: Avianca Life Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here

Some murmurings on the Flyertalk board that Etihad flights might be on the radar for LM. Seems there's some system testing going on at LM which indicates they might be available soon.

Re: Avianca Life Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here

I don't think this is the first time a non *A airline has shown up on the LM booking engine? I'm sure there was some excitement about some weird stuff showing up years ago and nothing came of it. Can't remember what it was now...Jet Airways maybe??

Probably has something to do with this though:

Gday

kpc i read your post in the successful bookings thread about having the the new 777 J seat from ICN to SYD. I was under the impression OZ ran the old sloping sleeper on this route. I had a look on the internet and couldnt find anything saying it had been switched to the new Smartium seat set up. From what i can tell there are 5 OZ 777 configurations. How do you know it is the new one and what dates is the new 777 config running the ICN- SYD route?

Thanks.

Pele.

The flight Icn-Syd is in Dec....when I looked at the seat map on Expert Flyer, the seat configuration in J is 1:2:1 hence the Smartium seats...of course, the aircraft may change between now and when I'm flying!
