re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Quite a lot of F availability on TG really... don't know when it's released. At the moment from early November nil availability, not sure if they release 10 months out?
Yup, TG F is one of the most readily available F products, except on the A388s lately. Usually, they release ten months out...

We needed 2 seats CDGSYD. We found plenty of availability on CDG-BKK on the day we wanted however BKK-SYD was the culprit as the only connecting flight LM would sell only had 1 seat (the later BKK-SYD departure 15 hours later wouldn't show up on their system as a connector even though it had plenty of F availability). Ended up booking ZRH-BKK-SYD a day later, no 380 but we'll survive with 'normal' F so long as the Dom is flowing. ;) I am toying with the idea of booking 1 seat CDGSYD to see if a 2nd seat pops up but the thought of spending ages on the phone with the call center trying to get them to split PNR, pay a change fee etc is too daunting not to mention that there's no guarantee that a 2nd seat will be released and you can't just put a booking on hold. Think the path of least resistance is best when it comes to LM. :)

Normally we'd be a bit more flexible with dates (plenty of availability a week earlier for CDGSYD) but we have our outbound booked with an AA Award on QF F which is like searching for hen's teeth compared to TG and therefore we planned our holiday and dates around it when we found 2 x QF F seats. This is for September 2014.

I think what I posted earlier in this thread is still relevant
"I thought a post by "wheresmybaga" from Melb on FT was pretty spot on as an observation of LifeMiles
"There's actually not that much to comprehend.
And of course the simplest of all rules to remember is that if the website doesn't show it, you're not booking it! There are very few variables to play with on the website...force an airline choice, (try to) force a departure time...that's it. Let's forget about trick cities.
Confusion arises mainly because a lot of people have an idea that LM should somehow allow all the best bits of other FFPs they have membership of. Rather than simply accepting LM for what it is and what it offers there is this constant angst and hand wringing about what's not possible! "

AFAIK the only way to book Suites is using KrisFlyer miles. Usually plentiful availability too. :) 2 Suite Savers on any flight, other than JFK/LAX which only ever has 1 Suite Saver award per plane (same with First Savers to the US).

Thanks, how about SQ F on non-A380 routes?

Only on a tiny number of short haul intra Asia routes...SIN - BOM is the only one I can think of off hand.

SIN-MNL and SIN-CGK comes to mind.

These are the older regional F product; not flat bed by any means, but comfortable enough indeed for intra-Asia, plus of course access to TPR in SIN.

Not worth the miles using LM for intra asia

I don't believe they even operate a First cabin to MNL.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Pretty sure First Class to MNL ceased in 2011....

as i said - they do on selected flights. It's pretty easy - just do a search on the SQ website (quicker than taking the time to reply here :)) and they come up operated by 777-300 a/c.

Not after December 2013 it seems...

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

The BOM flight is 77W F...and often connects to an LH F flight to FRA (within 14 days) although timings are pretty horrible and I don't read nice things about transitting BOM.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

There was an interesting TR on FT from a bright spark who realised SIN-MNL was the cheapest and easiest way to get access to the SQ FLounge Private Room at Changi so spent like 18 hours in there before boarding a very ordinary looking 2-2-2 regional F to MNL.

I would forget about thinking you can use Lifemiles for F out of Australia for anything except TG to Europe.
