re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

A few months back I bought 20K (10K + 10K offer) & did a J award using the min points of 10K pp plus cash component of USD290.00 pp.

My LM statement stated I had used 50K as 25K pp was the all inclusive level nil cash.

Would LM consider the available points I could still purchase this year 100K or 130K.

Maybe just have a fiddle on the buy miles page? It gives you an "error" that you have exceeded if it won't allow you to proceed

Guess it's s bit like IHG where an award stay of 15K points plus USD70.00 becomes a 25K stay ad the money has bought another 10K points.

They don't include co purchase miles in your 150k.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

The 150k doesn't include miles purchased during a miles plus cash booking

Thks for that Tdogs, BC World & Aussie Flyer.

Re: US Dividend Miles Buy/Gift Miles 100% bonus - Cheap way for F/J *A Awards

As a betting man, the odds of you being able to book that ticket first go (even with MNL as the non *A hub stopover) is equal to Julia Gillard losing the next federal election.

Haha - just reading through the posts on LM to figure out how to book some flights and came across this.
Any chance you want to reconsider your statement Alanslegal? :)

:D It's been a while since I posted that so can't remember what context it was in :D However in the context of USDM you are not allowed to book a stopover at a non *A hub ........ so it was close to certainty that MNL as a stopover is not bookable, which is also close to certainty (at that time) to JG losing the election ;)

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Back on topic :)

I booked my first redemption using LM the other day, and when I pulled up the reservation, it appears there might be a slight error in my partner's

Let's say our names are:

Mr Alan Surname
Miss Tina Surname

I checked the original email confirmation, the one they send when you initially book, and everything appears correct.

12 hours late, our e-tickets arrive and our names are now:

Surname/Alan Mr (that's fine).
Surname/Tina Mss (that appears OK right?)

However when we log onto the each airlines manage my booking.....I need to enter my partners first name as "Tinamss" otherwise it won't recognise the traveller. Also when I check Check My Trip, it shows as "Mr. Alan Surname" and my partners as "Tina Mss Surname"

Weird?!

That seems to be a quirk if you use the salutation Mss.....all my bookings have appeared like that.

Ditto. Did my first LM booking the other day and got the same. Was a bit worried about it as it is MrsTheEmu traveling with one of the offspring so I don't want anything to go wrong.
I was pretty impressed with the rapidity of the process despite Avianca's website. Miles bought, posted and flights booked within a few hours. Y coming up but going home will be their first international J flights. (TG)

The Mss salutation has somehow become my partners middle name though? For eg. When we enter her given name on BRs website which require both first and middle names, even though she doesnt have a middle name they wont just accept Tina but requires Tinamss.

I don't think this is going to be a problem but I'm sure ozbeachbabe has an explanation / reassurance regarding this.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

So signed up in view of US leaving *A.Wanting awards to BKK in 12 months time. However all that the website is offering is Air China via PEK in J or Y.
With Thai I can transfer CC miles and there is F availability. Is it ever offered through Avianca?

12 months is too far in advance for partner award programs on tg. Try in a month or 2

Yes TG F is definitely offered. iirc kpc booked 3 pax on the same CDG-BKK-SYD F flight recently.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Quite a lot of F availability on TG really... don't know when it's released. At the moment from early November nil availability, not sure if they release 10 months out?

It can be a bit random with TG...they're known to be a bit slack sometimes with releasing availability...they don't follow a strict T-3xx days schedule like others seem to.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

TG is one of the most generous First Class redemption suppliers IME.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

About to book another flight, damn point to point bookings :p

The best ratio for C&P bookings is when the cash component works out to be $15/1,000, correct?
