re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

haha, I'm not sure? - Royal Laurel sounds like First class and looks like first class in the seating arrangement...

What looks like a duck and sounds like a duck??

It's the same seating arrangement as CX J, AA J, US J on many aircraft. Not sure who else uses the Cirrus seat but it's definitely J class.

There are a couple of F'ey things about BR though...Dom and Rimowa amenity kits.

Dom sounds great!
But what's a Rimowa kit?

Apologies if I may have missed this somewhere but has LM also been affected with SQ availability issues? Is it only T-14 now that we can find J availability? Is ANA the only free way to check SQ premium availability now?

There is no more SQ J class availability between Australia and SIN except after T-14 days...doesn't matter whether you use LM or ANA...the seats are gone.

So you can still check with LM and will still get an accurate answer (assuming you are planning on booking with LM).

dang... so there are just no more seats until T-14? and so even if I do plan to use LM, the phone agents will see what I see also?

I did catch how UA have removed SQ availability entirely from their website but was there any announcement about SQ eliminating J award seats between AUS and SIN completely to ALL partners??

Correct...and correct.

Not that I'm aware of...but it certainly happened at some point in mid December.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Just have hopefully done my F redemptions for SYD-BKK in December.Unfortunately Amex put a spoke in the wheel suspecting fraud. So website told me to ring-at that time though it was ~01`00 in the Americas so left it until today-though did fire off an email explain what had happened.
So spoke to the agent who said that they cant take payments over the phone but has put me in a queue so that I pay the same points +copay( love how the cost per 1000 points comes down the further you reduce the points.).However he then said that this means someone will ring me back within 24 hours to finalise the payment.Yes,that'a right,by phone!

When I looked last month TG awards were loaded 10 months out.Looked yesterday-at the 11 month out mark and they were loaded.
Easy website to use but I will remember to tell Amex before booking any more awards.

does LM website goes down frequently ? It is very irritating sometimes!

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Well finally have my F awards SYD-BKK.
Not Avianca's fault there were problems but Amex as detailed before.

However Avianca did not ring back(though I confess that had they rung in the wee small hours I might not have heard it).

Kept checking the date over the weekend but then an hour ago the flights were returned to being available. So rung amex first then went online.
No problems at all.Really wasn't bothered by the website though sometimes it was painfully slow.

I will be using them again for sure.

How far out did you book?

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

The TG awards appeared at the 11 month out date.Though when I first started looking they were only available 10 months out.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Hi guys. I am a usual FT'er but have wandered my way over to AFF and learned lots from you guys. Wondering if anyone can help me out. I am looking or a C1-C2 destination other than chainsaw. And, also a C6-C1-C6--I know of 2 but both are only Y. Is this possible in F/J? Thanks so much!

FT really is the place for trick it...you'll find very little discussion about it here. To be honest, I'd rather not see this thread become like the FT one. I notice people are even bringing up 3X in that thread now! Let's not have this thread full of explanation about what C4, 3X means etc!

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

I just had a worrying thought after seeing something on FT - would those people trying to ticket GUM-xx_-SFO/LAX/SEA etc be breaching cabotage rules as its essentially a domestic flight?!?

You mean when all flights are not on UA?

Ahh yes that's the condition. I understand a foreign carrier cannot take passengers on wholly domestic US flights (i.e. GUM to mainland US). I think the only way to do it on LMs is to force UA as the carrier though.

I only get UA returned as an option ex GUM. Unfortunately several of the flights have been on a domestic 777.
