Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I am new to buying LifeMiles but have been looking on their website for CBR-DPS or even SYD-DPS but nothing on any dates in August or September. Can anyone let me know what I am doing wrong? I can find SYD-SIN but nothing to do with DPS. Any help would be wonderful, thank you.

Not all star alliance airlines have award tickets made available for every flight.

try syd > bkk > dps (searching seperately) as thai always have good availability.

I just looked SIN-DPS and there's availability on 7, 10, 11, 12, 13 August, all for multiple flights and multiple seats. Business class on Singapore airlines. I only searched a one week period, so it's looking fairly wide open.

Lifemiles is not always very good for showing connecting flights. For best results you should search sector by sector, then you might have to complete the booking manually with lifemiles (take screenshots of the individual sectors, send those to Lifemiles along with your passport ID page and they'll make the booking and call you for payment).

Thanks so much to you and Jayel. I may come across the answer as I am looking through LM site now but would SYD-SIN-DPS be the same amount points as SYD-SIN in business as it would be if I booked SQ? Eg no extra for SIN-DPS. LM is saying 50K SYD-SIN and 30K SIN-DPS but unsure if I can buy SYD-DPS. Thanks.

Thanks Buzzard, just found it too. The only way to book it is to call the contact centre though?
You don't have to ring, you can use the screen shot method and email them. Make sure you include a scan of the pax passport, the page showing details. When I last did it they asked for the scans to be in colour. A couple of days later I got a call asking for payment. Keep on top of things though, if you don't hear back within 2 or 3 days I would check that your email was received.

you cannot call to make the booking - it must be via a screen shot method.

Search SYD-SIN and click on the flight time you want. Screenshot that page. Search SIN-DPS and again, select the flight you want. Screenshot that page.

Send both screenshots and the passport to lifemiles support (email on their website). They will make the booking and send you an itinerary and a number for you to call to pay. At the time of payment you can use the flexible payment options (miles plus co-pay) if you want.

If you are after a return booking, you'll need four screenshots.

I've also noticed that SQ288 (SYD-CBR-SIN) is readily available in J - it's 777-ER so a great option but awful timing. the return flight (SIN-SYD) was also available when the SYD-CBR-SIN-SYD was first introduced but I no longer see it on LM.

I wonder if CBR-SIN on SQ288 is bookable?

The LM search engine won't even recognise CBR.

CBR-SIN is available on the united search engine.

Yes if you do the screensho

CBR is bookable and showing SQ availability on the standard smart search or star alliance search, just not when you search singapore only (unless you put in a dummy origin eg. syd, then right click on it and select 'inspect' from the drop down. search for 'syd' in the html and replace with 'cbr' and click search to force lifemiles to search a unlisted location. this is only useful if you know a star alliance route that will not pull from their database).

I sent a screenshot booking on Thursday but still haven't heard anything back. Is it normal for them to take this long?

It can be. I’ve waited four days over a weekend before. LM is pretty good though, as long as they have received your email they will action it. Did you send it to the english or spanish email address? the english one seems to work well.

Today is one week and still no reply about my screenshot booking.

That's unfortunate, might be the timing nearing the end of the promotion support were really busy?

Knowing lifemiles that could actually mean they’ve made the booking! It has to go to their rates desk for approval.

Just wondering if anyone else signed up to one of the Club LifeMiles monthly miles buying plans?

I did in April, must've been a moment of madness!

The first batch posted on sign up...my card was then charged 3 weeks ago for the next lot...still no miles. The T&Cs say this should be 'immediate'. I have emailed support a week ago but still no sign of the elusive miles.
